What is your most memorable wedding?
In 2017, for a fab Bath Assembly Rooms wedding getting ready in a huge Georgian house - the most laid back bride running round taking photos in her socks, dressing gown and rollers, while we prepped 14 people including 11 bridesmaids for Hair and make up! When they walked to the venue they turned so many heads! a fantastic memory 😊
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, Romantic, Soft, Elegant, Professional
What about your business are you most proud of?
The referrals, the amazingly reviews and my lovely brides and brides to be, being nominated for Bath hairdresser of the year by colleagues, being featured in 4 leading magazines in 2017 and 2018. Building up a small business (just going into my third year) and already being 50% booked for 2019.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy every moment, the things you thought would be so important and the little things that go wrong on the day will be the things you laugh at later on
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Polaroid photos for guests to take away, doggy guests at weddings
Describe your typical process with a couple.
First contact and hopefully a chat on the phone about your requirements, date, time, number in wedding party etc, a free face to face consultation if required, then a small deposit to hold the date - dates suggested for your trial (between 4 months to six weeks before your wedding) and friendly advice pre wedding
At the trial we will look at pictures of the dress and chat about what you're hoping to achieve, most suitable hair accessories for the style, and whether you wish to wear a veil, then create a variety of looks to suit, these will then be photographed and notes taken.
If having a make up trial you can do this at the same time or on another occasion, it's up to you.
What do you love most about your job?
Everything - but mainly seeing the happy faces leaving all ready for the big day and the hugs I receive when brides look in the mirror
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
If your hair is totally natural, and somewhat fine, it often helps to have a few very fine highlights to add some 3D depth and thickness to your style, and really enhances the total look. Temporary extensions can easily be added for bulk or length on the day.
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I'm a very calm person and very used to calming brides too, they often say that I helped to keep them feeling chilled on their wedding day!
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Take a small can of hairspray, a few hairgrips and a top up lipstick, some beautiful perfume, and wear a Very Big Smile :)
