What is your most memorable wedding?
I loved everything about Hannah’s wedding at her family home in Monmouth. They walked to church, her dress was amazing and she hired a helicopter for her husband as a surprise to pick him up. So stylish!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Soft, glowing, smokey and beautiful makeup!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Making up hundreds of brides and running my little business around family life, receiving great feedback and winning awards-lots of things!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Once the day arrives relax-everything is in place and you can’t do any more so just trust your suppliers and enjoy yourselves.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personalised earrings for bridesmaids made by my favourite Jewelley designers - ‘soru’ ... what a gift!!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After enquiring, I will check my availability and then send my prices and terms. I then answer any queries and if someone would like to book I take a deposit to secure the booking. Following this, the bride has her trial usually 6-8 weeks before the wedding & then we discuss final details following this. I then follow up this with email confirmation ahead of the big day.
What do you love most about your job?
Seeing how good people feel about themselves once I have made them up!
What is your No. 1 beauty tip for a bride?
Try on lots of lipsticks before the big day and choose one to top up with. It should feel comfortable to wear and test it in photos too!
How do you keep the bride feeling calm on her wedding day?
I’m quite a quiet person when doing makeup as I’m usually concentrating on what I am doing! Therefore, I’m unobtrusive and I think just sitting and reflecting calms a bride down.
What advice would you give to brides to stay looking great throughout their wedding day?
Dab don’t rub if there are any tears! Also no face touching if you can help it... you want your face to stay picture perfect and don’t want makeup on your hands/dress!
