A Middle Earth marvel
I just want to thank Ketta so much for our wonderful Middle Earth themed cake. It was so beautiful and tasted absolutely fantastic. When we first met with Ketta we knew she was going to be a huge help with our vision, listening to our ideas and bringing to life more than we could have hoped for. My husband and I both highly recommend Flossie Pops Cakery and will be going back for future events!!

The perfect 'naked' wedding cake
Ketta created the most beautiful and delicious naked cake for our wedding. So many guests commented on it and there was barely a crumb left at the end of the day. She also incorporated a gluten free layer that I could eat which didn't compromise on taste! We can't recommend her highly enough, she really listened to what we wanted a made something truly memorable.

There are cakes and then there are masterpieces
We didn't want to have a conveyor belt wedding and having everything reflect our fun and kookie personalities was vital to us. We knew from the moment that we met Ketta that she was the perfect fit and that she would share in our vision to have the most awesome funfair themed wedding possible. She took interest in us and really got to know us so that she could reflect us as a couple into the design. It was a true showstopper and having to finally cut it was only made bearable by how delicious the cake was.

June 2018 Wedding
Following our cake tasting where we sampled some delicious flavours of cupcakes we knew we had made the right choice working with Ketta. Our wedding cake was everything we had pictured and more. We had a rustic themed wedding so wanted something to suit. We went for a semi naked cake with fresh flower decor, we decided on Zesty lemon with lemon buttercream, White chocolate and raspberry with white chocolate ganache buttercream & Traditional Victoria sponge layered with vanilla bean buttercream and seedless raspberry jam. It tasted just as good as it looked we couldn't have been happier. Couldn't recommend enough, thank you!

Cake for Wedding at Hever Castle
After a wonderful cake tasting of some lovely varieties all beautifully packaged and presented...we decided on our cake with additional cupcakes. We wanted enough cake for slicing for guests and a cupcake each to take home. In keeping with the tudor theme and venue, Ketta did the most beautiful job embossing the tudor rose and other designs in a soft metallic. Absolutely beautiful but also it tasted amazing!! I will upload a picture when received from the photographer :-)

What is your most memorable wedding?

The wonderful feedback from happy customers and the ability to bring a smile to someone's face.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

This year, I think I would create a semi-naked style cake with caramel and chocolate ganache drizzle, dressed with fresh flowers, French macarons and chocolate shards (I'm a little in love with Anges des Sucres work!)

What about your business are you most proud of?

the first wedding cake I made for a very good friend is definitely the most memorable. I practiced making the three different tiers at least twice, it took over two hours of colour mixing to get the perfect shade for the lily of the valley leaves and around 10 hours to create the topper (which was a bunch of sugar lily of the valley). My husband was best man and my young children helped transport the tiers and hand me my tools as I assembled it. Although every wedding cake I make, and every couple I work with, are memorable, this one holds a special place in my heart.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

I love bold colours, metallics and large focal flowers.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The wedding cake I baked in June 2012 for a close friend was the catalyst for developing the business. After friends saw pictures, they began to ask for cakes. Once I had the kitchen registered with the council, obtained a food hygiene certificate and public liability insurance, I developed a website and the business took off very quickly from there. I now create wedding cakes, bespoke celebration cakes and teach classes to allow people to develop their own cake decorating skills.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Try and enjoy the whole process, and know, things will go 'wrong' but it won't matter

What is your signature cake?

Modern, elegant, unique, detailed, creative,

What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?

Probably a gold, teal and blush five-tier cake with frills, cherubs, fantasy flowers which 'floated' on a cloud on a cake stand.

Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.

Beautiful hand drawn caricatures of every single guest as table place settings.

What would be your show stopper in the Great British Bake Off?

In response to an initial enquiry, I will email through a pre-consultation questionnaire to gather basic information such as date, venue, any initial design ideas, flavours, budget etc. Then a couple would come to my studio for a tasting and face-to-face consultation, after which I produce a sketch and quote. The final design would then be tweaked if necessary and an order form raised. A month before the wedding, we would then have a conversation, either in person or by phone or email to finalise any details on design, delivery etc. I will liaise with your venue/wedding planner/florist or other relevant suppliers if necessary then on day, I deliver the cake and assemble it at the venue.
