Your cake should be the stunning centrepiece to your reception, both in looks and as a mouthwatering treat for your loved ones. Setting Kasserina apart is a well earned reputation for stunning, cutting edge cake design, attention to detail and for fabulous flavours. The bakery is founded on a passion for using naturally sourced, top quality ingredients. Artificial flavours are out and disappointment is banished, so the lemon cake is made with real lemons, the chocolate frosting is made with real chocolate, the vanilla frosting is made with real vanilla bean and there is no lingering chemical aftertaste with our cakes. Everything is fresh and delicious, baked from scratch, made to order... and we NEVER freeze cakes! Do drop us a line to find out more. NB. 4000 paper cranes hanging from the ceiling, all hand made by the bride and groom!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Approaches vary, some clients have strong ideas of what they want and others really haven't decided. It's my job to help them find the perfect design for thier day. We tend to talk ideas, make up a mood board, and chat about what's important to them. In this way we can create the cake design together and then I work to make it happen seamlessly for them.
What is your signature cake?
My favourite cake is reglularly changing, depending on what I'm working on at the time. My signature style is based around sugar flowers because I enjoy making them so much, but I am excited by ideas and am pretty adaptable.
What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
My Mum used to make them when I was kid. Many years later, I made my Brother's and after a childcare break from my career as a TV cameraman I decided to go into cakes so I could be closer to home.
What would be your show stopper in the Great British Bake Off?
Honestly, this answer would change weekly!
