I love making wedding cakes and being a part of such a special celebration. I prefer to meet clients in advance to discuss the design and to work out an accurate quote

Describe your typical process with a couple.
I like to meet for a design/tasting consultation. We will sit down with a cup of tea and some cake samples in different flavours. We will design your cake and decide on flavours. I then email out an accurate quote, usually within a couple of days of this meeting. I will keep a provisional booking in my diary until a week, after you have received your quote. To confirm a booking, I require a 25% non refundable booking fee, with your balance then payable 1 month before the wedding.
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
I started my business in 2007, with the idea of filling people's freezers with homemade cakes! I also joined Lichfield Country Market (formerly W I Markets) to sell my cakes. I started to receive requests for Birthday cakes and the business has evolved! I made my first wedding cake in September 2009. I no longer sell my cakes with Lichfield Country Market as the Wedding and Celebration part of the business has completely taken over, but at the heart of everything is still a homemade cake.
