I have made cakes since I was teeny, my mum was a super baker and many of my recipes come from her. I have been making cakes professionally for almost 8 years now. There really is nothing like a wedding! You get one shot to make your product perfect, and you know it it is so important to the couple. Every aspect of the cake is dealt with by me. From the designing to the making to the delivery on the day. I do have some helpers but no detail leaves my watchful eye. And I do the driving. It can be nerve-racking delivering a cake but it's all part of the challenge.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Pretty, Rustic, English Country, Floral, Cute
What about your business are you most proud of?
The messages I get weeks (or sometimes months) after a wedding, when the dust has settled, and a couple finds the time to tell me how much they loved their cake.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Decide on one or two features of your wedding that are MOST important to you. Eg, venue, the music, the flowers or... cake! Work hard to get your 'thing' right and let everything else fall into place.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I was looking for the 'top table' the other week at a wedding set-up. The organiser had to point it out to me - a round two-person table at the side of the room. Just for the bride and groom. I've never seen that before.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Half of my couples know exactly what they want. The other other half have no idea. Either way, we sit down and talk through ideas over a cuppa and of course a piece of cake (or several).
What is your signature cake?
Oh... I'd say my chocolate orange sponge. People get quite emotional about it. My white chocolate raspberry is a close second favourite.
What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?
A double-decker red London bus cake. On top of a tower of cupcakes. Apparently the couple met on bus so that's what they wanted! It turned out very cute I have to say.
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
A cheeky friend looking for a free wedding cake... she knew I could bake - and that I couldn't resist a challenge. The rest is history so they say.
