What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
To take your time, and not to panic, it always seems such a lot to organise, try to enjoy the process as much as possible.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Cake toppers always create a personal touch. The flowers to match the brides, sugar flowers are my favourite thing to make.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Usually a email, then contact by phone. Discuss the type of cake you want, arrange a meeting, and consultation. Arrange cake tasting, go through a drawing of the cake, and the flovours of cake you would like.
What is your signature cake?
My lemon sponge, with lemon curd and buttercream. Salted caramel is also delicious.
What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?
One of my favourite cakes was a naked cake made with tiny sugar flowers, and trailing jasmine leaves. I’ve made the same twice, in a slightly different way.
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
my first wedding cake over 4 years ago was the start with the business. But I have been making cakes for many years more!
