What is your most memorable wedding?
It has to be the most unusual Wedding cake I've made to date - one half was super hero themed with a hulk hand cake topper and the other half was black iced cakes with hand made sugar shards and jewels! It fitted the couples theme perfectly and is definitely a design which stands out
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Detailed, custom, eye catching, beautiful, personal
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am very proud to have returning customers and lots of recommendations. I also love the fact I can offer a wide variety of styles to suit everyone's tastes
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Decide on a colour scheme/theme and then use that to complete all the Wedding details such as the cake, invites, table decorations
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One couple had a 'family tree' instead of a guest book - all the guests put a finger print on the tree to make up the leaves.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After initial emails and discussions about portions, design, colour I will send over some guide prices and invite them to a no obligation taster where they can sample cupcake tasters, look at Wedding cake dummies & discuss their final ideas in more details. For the more elaborate cakes I will sketch out the design to help them visualise their cake.
What is your signature cake?
I have a wide variety of cake styles, but I would say my custom figures/decorations are signature to my cakes.
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
I began experimenting with cake decorating for friends and family, and it has expanded into a business from there. I decided to branch out into Wedding cakes by taking part in some local Wedding fairs.
What would be your show stopper in the Great British Bake Off?
It would have to be a semi naked drip style cake, adorned with macarons, chocolates, brownies & flowers - I love how personalised and delicious this style of cake looks
