Sandra is professionally trained in advanced patisserie and sugarcraft and specialises in creating beautiful, high quality wedding and celebration cakes. Her love of baking and her flair for handcrafting exquisite sugar flowers and detailed sugar models ensure that her cakes look stunning and taste divine. Specialising in vegetarian and vegan cakes. Sandra has professional teaching qualifications and has lectured in cake decoration and baking at The City of Bath College. She now teaches with the very best of the South West's culinary professionals at the Vale House Kitchen Cookery School near Bath. In September 2012 Sandra was named as ''Celebration Cake Maker of the Year'' at the prestigious British Baking Industry Awards at London's Park Lane Hilton. Sandra's cakes feature regularly in leading sugarcraft and baking publications. She has also worked as a cake designer and home economist for Dorling Kindersley Books and Renshaw Baking. As an author Sandra has just finished her first book 'Using Cutters on Cakes', published by Search Press in July 2014.

What about your business are you most proud of?

All of our cakes are home-baked and all of the decorations are handcrafted.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Save your ideas and inspiration in a scrap book, or pin ideas on Pinterest. Keep colour swatches, clippings, photographs and anything you hope to include in your wedding theme. Bring your ideas to consultations, they are a great way to convey how you envisage your day.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

One couple invited their pet dog to their wedding and he wore a beautiful floral wreath around his neck. He looked so cute and got lots of fuss.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Most of my couples make contact by email then arrange to come and see me for a cake tasting and consultation. We talk about all things wedding and cake! Cake consultations are always fun and we discuss things over tea and cake, what could be better?

What is your signature cake?

Sticky Toffee cake with Salted Caramel and Vegan Turkish Delight Chocolate Cake.

What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?

A giant haunted house for a wedding cake!

Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.

A love of baking and eating cake!

What would be your show stopper in the Great British Bake Off?

Anything made with gingerbread. I love the smell of freshly baked gingerbread and the sweet spices.
