What is your most memorable wedding?
My Brothers wedding, it was a very emotional and special day for all the family but we were immensely proud to have been able to make the wedding cake too for their lovely day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Creative, Contemporary, Considered, Professional & Fun.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The feedback that we receive from our lovely couples are what make everything worth while, knowing that we were able to help make a couples day the best day of their lives.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Have fun on your wedding journey, weddings are always stressful to organise but it's the memories on the run up to the big day that are just as special.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We attended an Autumn wedding last year in 2018, where the bride and groom had created home made Crackers (The Christmas kind) in substitute for a wedding Favor. Each cracker contained a little note of thanks to the guests along with a pin badge from the MS society. The couple had donated £1.00 on behalf of each guest to the MS charity as the brides father was suffering from severe MS and was unable to attend the wedding.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Consultations are an invaluable part in the process of designing your Wedding cake and it is a great opportunity to
choose your flavours. This process is when we first start to get to know each other, and get a sense of your style preferences
and personality, as a couple so that the important and exciting design process can begin.
Our consultations briefly consist of the following;
A general chat so we can get to know you a little better
Cake sampling and flavour choices (taster consultations only)
Wedding day details e.g. timings/location within your venue
Colour schemes & Design elements
Discussion about the process following your consultation
Additional items e.g. Serving, cake stand & displays.
What is your signature cake?
This would have to be our Millionaire sponge cake, its always a favourite at our consultations, a mixture of vanilla and chocolate sponges filled with creamy salted caramel buttercream and an indulgently thick caramel sauce.
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
I have spent over 15 years in the fashion industry developing trend led fashion for the masses. Baking and cake design however is a personal passion. I started baking cakes for family and friends a few years back for those special occasions. The feedback I received was always extremely positive. I was extremely lucky to have one of my creations featured in a major wedding magazine and that gave name the confidence to push my skills. So after some careful planning myself & my partner decided to launch Sweet Perfection, This has allowed us to bring joy to people in the form of something sweet and stylish.
