Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy the planning process and being engaged. It can be a very stressful and overwhelming time but if you find suppliers that you know you can trust it takes a huge weight off and you can enjoy the fun parts!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We are all about the personal touches at Two Little Cats and love seeing how couples put their own spin on things. Some of our favourites include hidden Mickey Mouse ears for a Disney mad couple (not just on the cake but around the whole venue), and favourite dinosaurs as cake toppers - they even went on the honeymoon to Venice!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After a few emails we will invite you to a consultation at our Cambridgeshire kitchen studio. This is a great chance to talk about your wedding and your ideas for your wedding cake, all over a cup of tea and, of course, your chosen cake flavours! After this we will write up our conversation and send across a quote for you. We will keep going back and forth until you are completely happy and we are always at the end of an email if you have any questions at all.
What is your signature cake?
We are known for our buttercream and naked/semi naked cakes in a huge range of flavours - some of which cannot be found elsewhere. Some of our most popular flavours at the moment include white chocolate & passionfruit, Kinder Bueno, strawberry & Champagne, Biscoff & salted caramel, and lemon & elderflower.
What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?
We absolutely love making cakes that are unique to our couples, and as a result we have made some pretty different cakes. Some stand out ones include a giant jammy dodger and Bourbon biscuit cake, an Up! Disney cake, a Star Wars Battle of Hoth cake, and most recently a zombie horror themed cake!
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
Unlike lots of other cake makers, there’s no romantic back story of a childhood dedicated to baking (even though I did really enjoy it I wasn’t actually very good at the time!). It wasn’t until I graduated from Cambridge University that I began baking intensively. I found that I loved it and (thankfully) had greatly improved!! In 2013 Two Little Cats was formed and I started creating cakes full time. Wedding cakes are now hands down my favourite part of my job. I adore meeting our couples, hearing about their ideas for their day and then creating the dream cake for them.
