We have grown strength to strength in the short time we have been established. Our proudest moment so far, was being asked to make a celebrity cake and being featuring in the pages of OK Magazine.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Do exactly what you want to do, don't worry about others, it's your big day. Take it slow and don't worry too much, enjoy every single second of the day as it truly goes so fast.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Email contact, a good natter on the phone, I send out sample boxes, sketch some designs, meet at the couples venue if desired. I like to keep everything very stress free and friendly.
What is your signature cake?
For flavour it's either our White chocolate mud cake, it's moist and sticky and truly delicious. Or our scrumptious chocolate fudge sponge with salted Carmel buttercream and caramel sauce. For a design it has to be our vintage, bunting design. We have replicated the same design more that 4 times and still have future bookings for the same cake.
What is the most original creation you have baked for a wedding?
A gold and navy design, with shimmery jewels, edible gold leaf. A water colour wash layer and white roses.
Describe how you got into making wedding cakes.
I am a baker at heart, I love to come up with new recipes and I adore the look on people's faces when they ohhhh and ahhh trying our cake flavours. I have an art degree and after being made redundant as a trainer, I put the art degree to good use and attended a few sugar flower courses. White Lace Cakes was born a few months afterwards.
