Yummy Little Cakes started in 2011 after making my sons 1st birthday cake – a labour of love involving 20+ hours of work! Growing the business at home, I had to make a choice – cakes, secure job or my children - I chose cakes and children and became self-employed!
Raising the profile of YLC in the wedding world, I outgrew the domestic set up, moving into my fabulous, super cool studio based in Nottingham. A converted old mill – vaulted roof, huge beams, brick works and oodles of natural light. Not just an amazing place to work, it’s an exciting place for my guests and clients to visit too.
Now I have my own unique style, I love to translate current and predicted trends into all things cakey. Everything that I design and create is genuinely original, creative and has a flawless finish. I don’t do price lists, replicas or catalogues. Sitting with a client during a consultation and seeing their face when they see the design I sketch – the perfect design even they didn’t know they wanted. Then the option of accompanying treats to create the ultimate treat table or to use the perfect favour is always a winner. The choice for inside is unlimited – creatively is the key – sticky toffee pudding, raspberry and coconut, or maybe the current most popular, prosecco and peach. Apparently the taste is “to die for” – although no actual fatalities have occurred!
