Lizzie McQuade Millinery + Accessories Full Description
Lizzie launched her first bridal collection in 2015, after a career in fashion, having always been drawn to bridal looks thanks to her love of romantic fabrics and finishes. Her collections of wedding day headwear are influenced by what real women want to wear on their wedding day, and her pieces are regularly featured by publications such as Brides, You and Your Wedding, and Rock and Roll Bride. Every piece is made by hand using artisan techniques in her East London studio. Lizzie also loves the process of creating a bespoke piece in close partnership with brides-to-be; learning about their style, dreams and vision for their day, and creating a piece which captures all of that is such a joy! The studio is based in London, so for more complex bespoke orders, fittings will be needed in London. However she can also work on special orders via skype and email for clients who cannot travel so do get in touch if you are further afield!

Lizzie understood exactly what I wanted!
I found Lizzie online and was immediately in love with her designs of headbands and wedding veils. I contacted her and we started to work together on what I wanted. She was so easy going and understood exactly what I wanted. She took the time out to come to my house which was quite far for her to go to, to offer some samples and go through designs with her. I chose 4 x bridesmaids flower headbands the gold and silver ones, then for me I had a veil made and a headband which was handmade with lots of small little white/cream flowers with silver embroidered pins on it. Lizzie was really contactable and friendly which made the whole experience easy and that is what you want when your planning a wedding! I would really recommend Lizzie and her team, the designs are wonderful

Timeless masterpiece
I had a wonderful hairpiece made by Lizzie for my wedding. They were three hair clips with delicate flowers on and they were beautiful. Lizzie also made my mother her hat to wear. We had spent a long time looking for the perfect headpiece for her and nothing matched her unusual dress - so Lizzie made it for us. It was a real timeless masterpiece and a total hit. If you are considering working with Lizzie for your special day - or any big occasion - I would 100 per cent implore you to do so. Thank you Lizzie!

Beautiful, delicate headpiece
I had the most beautiful, delicate headpiece made for my wedding in August. Lizzie listened to exactly what I wanted and paid extra attention to the tiny details adapting the style to suit me, I was so happy with the final piece

The Crowning Glory of my Wedding
I wore the most beautiful, bespoke Lizzie McQuade bridal band at my wedding and it just elevated my outfit from elegant to magical. What I loved most about the piece was how beautifully it was made, how in keeping with my character it felt, and what an incredible keepsake it makes for a day which will always remain one of the best I have ever had. I received compliments galore and would suggest that an investment in one of these pieces is worth far more than spending your precious wedding pennies on a veil. The picture I've posted is of me massively posing but I guess it's reflective of how ridiculously amazing I felt wearing Lizzie's wonderful work.

The best thing about my entire bridal outfit was the stunning headpiece.
I had secretly dreamed of wearing one of Lizzie's pieces for my wedding before I even had a boyfriend. Her work is special, unique and stunning - perfect for a bride that is looking to do things a little differently, as well as those seeking the more traditional. There are beautiful pieces straight from Lizzie's collection, but she was also open to creating a more bespoke variation too. She is a patient, thoughtful and collaborative partner in creating your dream headpiece, and took time to really understand what I wanted before making a gorgeous version of her Amare band customised with felt leaves to fit the theme of our winter wedding perfectly. Wearing it totally made my day (apart from marrying my husband of course).

Bespoke Midsummer Night's Dream headpiece
I had a traditional church wedding planned but my husband and I wanted to let our hair down for the Midsummer Night’s Dream black tie evening part of the day. Lizzie could not have been more accommodating when I first contacted her to talk about what I could put in my hair for the evening. I wanted something eye catching and fun. I went to try on some of her creations at a pop up and knew I would go for something by her. My husband then chose a fabulous Liberty Print dinner jacket and I definitely didn’t want to be outdone. I asked Lizzie if she could create something to match the print and she came up with the most wonderful design and executed it in a matter of weeks. She came to meet me in central London to try and check it and it felt like I was working with a friend. She is incredibly creative and professional and kind and lovely. Looking forward to my next excuse to commission something and I can’t wait to wear the headpiece with a red lace dress for a few weddings I am going to this autumn. Thank you so much Lizzie!

Frequently Asked Questions
(10)

What is your most memorable wedding?

My own! I wore three different headpieces through the day, and found it was a fun and easy way to change up my look after the ceremony and for the dancing.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Modern, feminine, delicate, playful, elegant

What about your business are you most proud of?

The feedback we get from our brides, and the images of them beaming with happiness in a piece we made by hand.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Leave lots of time for the important decisions - it reduces stress levels so much!

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

I love a personal message on garments or accessories - it could be hand stitched initials, wedding date or the place you met in one of our headpieces. So beautiful and personal.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I usually hear from a bride once she has seen or chosen a dress and her style for the day. We'll try on a range of styles, and then decide if she wants a bespoke design or some changes to a collection piece. I'll keep in touch through the making process with images and updates, and then arrange a final fitting if needed and ship the piece out in its special packaging. The process usually takes around 4 weeks, sometimes longer for a complex bespoke piece.

What do you love most about your job?

The wonderful women I get to work meet!

What is your favourite style of wedding dress?

Anything worn with confidence! If it makes you feel great you will look amazing.

What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?

Well I would say in a headdress of course! We can add subtle blue beading onto the centres of our handmade flowers, or tiny crystals to a veil or even a blue lining for a hidden touch of blue.

What is your favourite wedding dress of all time?

I love the 60's so I would have to say Audrey Hepburn's super chic Givenchy wool shift dress and matching headscarf she wore to marry Andrea Dotti in 1969.
