What is your most memorable wedding?
The wedding of Rachael and Dan at Fishlake Mill near Doncaster was our most memorable wedding. From Start to finish this was a wonderful wedding. After having Terrible service with another bridal shop Rachael came to Perfect Day. We helped her with alterations on one of her already purchased bridal gowns and helped her to choose her 2nd vintage style gown for her evening reception. Along with providing her flower girl dresses for her two delightful flower girls both of whom suffered with Autism our seamstress Katherine designed and made delightful vintage style aprons for the young ladies, as well as making the ties for the pageboys, groom , best man and father of the bride and all the alterations required on their suits. We then had the privilidge of dressing the bride and her entourage on the day of the wedding. It was a beautiful outdoor ceremony, the sun shone and it was a great success. Best part of the day was receiving a hug and a kiss of thanks from the beautiful flower girls and bride.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Make a list of what you would like, go through it and list what you really need and can afford and stick to it. Remember it is your day and your ideas are paramount. Friends and relatives may think they are being helpful but if you make it clear from the outset that although you value their advice , their wants and desires may not be the same as yours.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A small hand written personal thank you for helping make their wedding day special from the bride and groom to each of the guests.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We do not often get to meet the prospective grooms but they are always welcome if it is what the bride wants. We like to welcome our clients with a drink and we sit and talk to them about, how long they have been engaged, their plans for the wedding , honeymoon etc. We like to know a little about their background as the more information we receive the more we can hopefully guide them to the gown that most suits their needs. We do not believe in pressure selling and after we have explained a little about our service and designers we then let he bride and friends have a good look through our gowns. We do not have a limit on the amount of gowns a client can try on and we also allow at least an hour and a half for each appointment so the bride does not feel she is being rushed. We like to dress the bride in her choice of gowns so we can ensure that she sees the gown at it's best. We are always happy to help and advise if required and may also make a few suggestions of our own for the bride to try by assessing her reaction and the fit of each gown she tries. At all times our bride's needs and comforts are paramount.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love most of all about my job is when a happy bride gives me a hug and a thank you and leaves our store feeling that she has gained another friend.
What is your favourite style of wedding dress?
I personally love all styles of dresses as every bride is a different shape, and age and seeing them in the right gown that enhances their figure and makes them smile is what makes a dress beautiful to me.
What is the best way to incorporate "Something Blue" into the wedding outfit?
There are many different ways to incorporate your something blue in your wedding dress from the traditional garter to the flowers you carry. A small blue bow sewn into the lining of your dress or underskirt is another idea or perhaps choosing your jewelry with a touch of blue. Brides these days also love to wear coloured shoes as opposed to the traditional white or ivory so maybe blue could be the colour you choose or a little blue decoration attached. I am sure there are many more inventive ways that brides of today can bring there something blue into their ensemble.
