What is your most memorable wedding?
I have performed in hundreds of beautiful venues across the UK, but I recall at a wedding I was asked to perform some magic outside. It was a beautiful day so I obliged. On the grounds I couldn't see any guests until a lady came out of a VW Camper van. She wanted me to join her and her friends inside the van. It was a little bizarre but fun all the same. I was wedged in at a table performing magic among 5 or 6 women!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
For me personal touches involve family and friends. We often hear words spoken of 'those who sadly cannot be with us today'. This sentiment was extra emphatic at a wedding I attended, where the groom had prepared several photos of the brides grandparents who had sadly passed away. It was a very humbling touch.
What about your business are you most proud of?
Don't leave the entertainment until the last minute. It is one of the most memorable parts of the wedding and entertainers have packed diaries. Book early to avoid disappointment.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
fast-paced, witty, confident, entertaining, bewildering
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
The important thing about my magic is that it can be performed 1 to 1 or to a group of 10 or more people. My experience has helped me deal with crowds of all sizes. I don't have a tip per se. It is just a matter of me being myself. I am confident at speaking in a group and am certainly confident in my abilities as a magician. I am funny and engaging and can hold any crowds attention by being myself.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I would have a conversation over the phone with the bride or groom to be. During the call I will be finding out specifics, date, timing etc. We then talk about specifics of the day and what the best options are for the wedding magic. I listen to any requests and will accommodate as best I can. When the couple go ahead with the booking, I take a small deposit.
I will speak to the couple leading up to the wedding to make any final arrangements, regarding time and final payments.
What is your No. 1 top tip for keeping a crowd entertained?
My most memorable wedding would probably be my first ever wedding, some 19 years ago. I can look back at how far I have come and appreciate that my magic has evolved.
Where is the most memorable place you have performed?
Magic is unpredictable! On the day, no matter how much planning has gone into the magic/routines I can't always prepare for the guests I meet. I was surprised when the best man was ending his speech. Over the year leading up to the wedding we had met on several occasions and had become good friends. On the wedding day he finished by saying that I will now be delivering a speech!
Rabbit caught in the headlights!!!!!! I hadn't prepared for this. Fortunately I disappeared in a cloud of smoke.....I was able to speak sincerely about the bride and groom but it wasn't easy as he caught me by surprise.
Have you had any interesting surprises at a wedding?
Everything I do is a party trick. I do leave a lasting impression on everyone that I perform for and leave the bride and groom with a memento of their day.
What is your party trick?
I am most proud of the fact that I took a leap of faith to start my business. Graduating university with a Degree in French and English, I realised my passion was for magic and so I pursued it
