We love working with creative couples who want something a little out of the ordinary, and we are passionate about all those little details that make your wedding unique to the two of you. We know that sometimes it's the little things that matter; no detail is too small! We love working with you to realise your visions, and our ethos is to make sure your day is effortlessly stylish and a little off-beat. Each of our weddings is tailored to the couple, and every couple that books with us will receive a custom wedding pack with mood boards, inspo pictures and colour palettes so you can see your big day come to life (tbh we get nearly as excited as you about it!) As well as creating gorgeous bespoke florals, at Bureau Botany we are always busy in our workshop inventing and restoring new props and decorations to bring that extra level of detail to your wedding. We offer the hire of a wide range of unique, handmade and restored vintage props and decorations to add that finishing touch. Please head to our website or drop us an email to browse our hire collection. So say no to that same old wedding- pour a glass of wine, drop us an email, and let us do the work!

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Bethan Sands
Hello! I’m Bethan, and I run Bureau Botany from my workshop in a village called Farnhill, not far from Skipton (just under an hour's drive from Leeds city centre) on the North/West Yorkshire boundary. I come from a background in Graphic Design and Fashion; I worked for a number of years creating window displays at a large luxury department store so attention to detail and love of fashion, design and creating a spectacular impact is something I try to bring to every wedding I work on.

What is your most memorable wedding?

I have worked on loads of fantastic weddings - I always enjoy an unusual brief and two that stick out in my mind are: - Getting to make the entire aisle look like a wild flower hedgerow growing out of the ground for an early summer wedding. It really did look amazing and made such an impact. - Carving by hand loads of pumpkins in to lanterns and tea-light holders for an Autumnal themed wedding. I have never been covered in so much pumpkin goo in my life but it was worth it for the look on the bride's face when she saw all those beautiful lanterns!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed, quirky, wild, unique, free-spirited

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Pinterest and Instagram are fantastic for getting inspiration - but it can be tricky to know the actual cost of recreating something similar to those gorgeous images. If you have a set budget in mind don't be afraid of making this clear from the outset. This way I can make sure I'm not going to quote for things that will completely blow your budget, and I can only suggest things that will stick within your budget but still look gorgeous and match your vision for the day. There's nothing more disheartening than getting a quote back that is way over what you imagined!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I ask all my couples who enquire to book in for a consultation with me (I do them either in-person or over the phone - whichever suits you best) so we can talk over all your ideas in more detail, and then I can get back to you with an accurate quote. We can then discuss this together and once you are happy, I require a deposit to secure the date. Once I have received your deposit you will get your bespoke wedding pack from me; this includes breakdowns of everything we've discussed as well as mood-boards for styling and flower colour palettes to help you visualise everything. We will then have another consultation about 2 or 3 months before the date to go over everything in a bit more detail, check if anything's changed and firm up timings for the day. And between booking and final consultation I am of course contactable by email at any time if you have any questions or need some support. During the week leading up to your wedding you will have a team dedicated to making and creating everything for your day. On the day we will set everything up, wait and move anything from one location to another during the day if required, and we will return and clear everything down the next day so you can relax and enjoy your wedding knowing everything is taken care of.

What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?

Our imaginations really are the limit here. I love creating meaningful florals that have special significance to you, or unusual florals that aren't quite what people expect. I have had a bride request mini cabbages in her bouquet, and a bride that wanted a certain rose that reminded her of her grandma. I had a bride that just wanted out-of-the-ordinary flowers, and when I delivered her bouquets on the day I delighted at her bridesmaid's reaction that she had never seen flowers like them before. Mission accomplished!

What is the most romantic flower and why?

I absolutely love garden roses - they have a gorgeous vintage look to them as well as the most beautiful scent. You can get them in so many delicate colours, they are a firm favourite of mine.
