- I believe that a wedding should not only look beautiful but should also reflect the spirit and personality of you and your husband-to-be. I’ll work closely with you to create the wedding flower theme that fully complements the style and feel of your special day. You might already have some ideas, maybe a Pinterest board or magazine cuttings. Combining professional training from the Bedfordshire based Shuttleworth College, with a wealth of retail experience, and over 10 years experience in the wedding industry, the focus of Flowers by Suzanne is one of combining the creativity needed to deliver bespoke floral designs with the highest level of customer service. We have been shortlisted by the Hitched.com Breakthrough Awards in 2011, received the Good Florist Award 2013-2014, won the Florist category in the Four Counties Wedding Awards in February 2016, regional finalist East of England in TWIA 2017 (Wedding Floristry) and in recent months have had work published in a variety of well known magazines (Wedding Flowers & Accessories) and within online publications. Flowers by Suzanne specialise in wedding flowers, and also create flowers for a variety of events, parties and corporate occasions. We are also members of the British Florist Association (BFA) and hold Public Liability Insurance.

What is your most memorable wedding?
Having set up at a venue in Woburn for my bride and groom and then driving past Gerri Halliwell's wedding church as her guests arrived; Helping a bride do up her dress just before she left for the church; seeing Delboy Trotter's van parked outside the church!

What about your business are you most proud of?
Flowers by Suzanne was shortlisted in the Hitched.com awards as one of the best newcomers to the industry, we are in the Good Florist Guide 2013-2014 and won the Four Counties Wedding Award for Best Florist 2015-2016 as voted by our brides. In 2017 we were a Regional Finalist (East of England) for 'Wedding Florist of the Year' in The Wedding Award Industry (TWIA).
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
To help you decide on your colour, choose your bridesmaids dresses first, this generally dictates the colour theme, be that matching or complementary colours.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A half made bunting attached to a singer sewing machine and an old door with guest table names!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We meet with the bride to be and discuss initial ideas, I then provide a quotation, if they're happy with the ideas and pricing, they then book to hold a deposit of £100, which is taken off the final invoice and holds their wedding date with me. We can meet at the venue or church to discuss decor ideas if necessary, we then tweak the ideas about a month up to the wedding.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
A gingham bird!
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for brides?
One of the current popular wedding flowers are baby's breath (gypsophila) the symbolic meaning is innocence. Other popular wedding flowers; Calla Lily (Magnificent Beauty); Gardenia (Purity & Joy); Hydgranea (Understanding); Lilac (Love's first emotion); Lily of the Valley (Happiness); Orchid (Love & Beauty); and one of the most popular wedding flowers; Roses (Love, Joy & Beauty)!
What is the most romantic flower and why?
I think it has to be the red rose; a favourite for Valentine's every time.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Put them in water for as long as possible and contact a reputable flower preservers to treasure them forever!
