- The creative force behind Foxgloves and Roses is Nicola Roberton, a life-long flower groupie. Moved by the organic beauty of a country garden, Foxgloves and Roses's designs take inspiration from the stunning colours, textures and perfumes to be found in nature. Nicola’s floral work looks effortlessly beautiful with a style that is joyous and natural. Her designs feature only the loveliest seasonal blooms and feature both soft and muted colours and more vibrant shades. Foxgloves and Roses has created floral designs for weddings in palaces, country houses, hotels, barns, marquees, churches and Oxford colleges. Whatever the venue, colour scheme or design theme, the guiding principle is to reflect the love, excitement and happiness of each couples’ wedding day with the most beautiful flowers they’ve ever seen. Because each couple is unique, so is their wedding, and as a result all Foxgloves and Roses’s designs are bespoke. Starting with their first meeting, Nicola helps each couple to shape and realise the unique vision of the perfect flowers for their wedding day. Throughout the process, couples can expect a creative, helpful, patient and friendly service that makes the run up to their big day stress free and enjoyable.

What is your most memorable wedding?
All of them! But perhaps the one that sticks in the mind the most is a Narnia-themed wedding set in an all-white marquee (carpet too!) seating 300 in the middle of December. It was one of the stormiest days of the winter and the crazily flapping marquee threatened to topple all the beautifully decorated trees but all was well than ended well!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Abundant, joyous, organic, natural, seasonal
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
If you love a particular flower (and peonies are usually at the top of the list), be sure to check when it's in season before you book your date.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A gallery of family wedding photographs - grandparents, parents, siblings - attached to a pretty trellis to which we tied jam jars of roses in amongst the pictures.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
After the initial consultation, at which we discuss in details plans and ideas for the big day, a flower plan is created which includes detailed design ideas for all the arrangements. This is submitted to the bride and groom for their consideration with tweaks and changes made until they are 100% happy. On booking a 10% deposit is paid with the balance due a couple of weeks before the wedding day.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Small wild green apples found in a local hedgerow.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
Definitely the rose but only the blowsy, scented garden type - so beautiful!
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Give them away and spread the love. One F&R bride recently requested that after her wedding all her flowers were taken to a local hospice where they would bring beauty and scent to the patients and staff.
