What is your most memorable wedding?
They all are, by the time we arrive at the venue to set up, we have already gotten to know the couples so well, they feel like true friends. Whenever I get the chance to see the bride in her dress, with our flowers on her day, I am guaranteed to cry!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Stylish, elegant, extravagant, unique, timeless
What about your business are you most proud of?
My team of talented, creative, perfectionists. They truly rock!
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Get more bang for your buck by creating impact and ambience. Think about things which are often overlooked like the table linen which has a large surface area. If you have a colour scheme in mind, it doesn't always have to come from the flower arrangements or chair sashes. For a more elegant look add a pop of colour that will stand out by carefully thinking about coloured table linen... oh yes and always re-use ceremony decor to make your budget work harder!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A memory wall. Unfortunately not everyone you love can be with you on your special day. A memory wall is filled with happy photos and memories of friends and realtives who have passed on. Short quotes of things they would always say, or words of wisdom they had passed on. Its something for your guests to interact with, and truly special way of keeping the people you care about the most, close to you on your wedding day.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The first meeting We love to talk. We will arrange a free, no obligation meeting with one our design team This usually lasts about an hour and can be arranged at a mutually convenient location. Bring your mum, your bridesmaids, your best man, who ever you like the aim to get to know you both and hear everything you have ever dreamt about for your big day. Please feel free to bring pictures, swatches, colors and any other inspirations to start the ball rolling, or email us prior to the meeting with links to things you’ve seen on-line. The Design Around 2 weeks after your initial meeting, you will receive our proposal. Our inspiration board, will take you through each individual design aspect of the day, it’s a visual document to give you a real idea of what to expect. We also give you a full estimate, to help with your budgeting. Once you have received this, we give you some time to review and digest and encourage feedback and open dialogue. If you are happy, then we are happy, all we need is a small deposit to secure your booking The final meeting Around 3 months before your wedding, we will meet again to run through all of the final details. Our couples often book our services two years in advance, we are constantly researching and creating new designs, things change and new inspiration and design details emerge. This is the chance to make sure your Wedding Design is still on track and any final tweaks and changes can be made The transformation We will liaise with your coordinator and ensure we are in place on the day to deliver the transformation. Super efficient logistics and planning, will mean that no detail is forgotten, and everything we have planned is executed with pure perfection. Team WD will arrive in plenty of time to transform the venue. This is our favourite part of the whole process and we want your words as you enter, to be the same as our final words as we leave… WOW! Happily Ever After Once you have had time to come back down to earth and look back on your amazing day, we’d love to hear from you. Our business has been built on reputation and recommendation, so if you loved what we did, please let us know. The team love to receive feedback, it’s the best way for us to continually improve. So drop us an email, or leave a review on our Facebook page. Even better, send us some pictures from your day so we can feature you on our website.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Its actually a flower! The Juliet rose is beautiful, and really popular for bouquets. As an expensive flower, its often reserved for the brides bouquets, but the cost of each stem is a mere fraction of the it cost to create it. Known as the “£3 million rose” because that’s how much it cost breeder David Austin, over 15 years to create this peach blush beauty. The Juliet Rose was debuted in 2006 at the Chelsea Flower Show, since its launch this stunner has been one of the most popular rose used in wedding flower bouquets and arrangements.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for brides?
Lily of the Valley, not only is it the most beautiful delicate flower, but some say means the return of happiness, what more could anyone want in life, especially at the start of your new chapter in life.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
it has to be the Rose. It is the quintessential flower that symbolizes love, romance and fidelity.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Hand them out to your guests at the end of evening. We often have brides who leave the flowers and its such a shame, although our mum often ends up with flowers on every spare surface!
