What is your most memorable wedding?
It was a few years ago now but we had the pleasure of working in the West Coast of Scotland for a Wedding at Culzean Castle. What made it so memorable was the time spent with the bride and her family who visited us throughout the days leading to the wedding, marvelling at the designs we were creating for the day. Being at the Church to see the Bride & Groom depart for their venue as Husband & Wife with the biggest smiles, happiness and thanks for their gorgeous flowers was something really quite special
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Diverse, natural, rustic, eclectic and playful with colour
What about your business are you most proud of?
The majority of our bookings are from recommendations of past clients and quite often wedding guests. Knowing that our business continues to grow through the happiness of our clients or our eye-catching designs makes us really quite proud
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Before meeting your florist think about the colour palettes you prefer and gather some images of designs or flowers that you like or love. It can sometimes be hard to convey your ideas especially if not floral minded but via pictures or notes about the aspirations for your day your florist can transform these ideas into something personal and unique
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
When clients include something memorable or personal to their designs be it a rose from grandad's garden or a locket worn by mum
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Following initial contact we provide relevant information to your query and arrange a consultation where we can meet and discuss all your wedding flower and decor ideas. Following this we will provide a quote which will include the ideas discussed plus additional options so clients can consider all possibilities and choose what best meets their requirements. Depending on what stage you are in the planning process we may arrange a further meeting to streamline ideas further. Within the 6-8 weeks leading up to the wedding we will be in contact with you more to finalise your requirements, check all details are correct and confirm delivery schedule for the day. A final invoice is then sent for approval with payment due 2 weeks prior to the wedding date For out of area or overseas clients we will liaise by email sending a questionnaire to find out more about your wedding day ideas. We will then follow up by creating a design brief that will provide suggestions and images for you to peruse. Upon confirmation of requirements we will send a quote for the items required and as we progress closer to the wedding we will follow up to confirm all requirements and delivery details for the wedding day
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Vegetables! for a client who wanted an organic design. The bouquet featured aubergines, carrots foliage's and more
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for brides?
For a Scottish appeal the eryngium thistle or clusters of heather is often favored by clients. We will often source flora & fauna specific to a region or Country that is part of our clients heritage for instance Ferns from New Zealand or Protea from Africa
What is the most romantic flower and why?
A Rose is probably the most romantic of flowers as it is used as a symbol of love but Romance isn't just limited to roses. On occasion brides will include a flower type they've received in the past from their groom such as lilies or orchids because to them that is is the most special and Romantic flower they have received
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
We strongly believe in utilising the flowers after the wedding be it giving them as a gift or using as a remembrance design. Its also lovely to distribute them within the community such as to nursing homes where the flowers will certainly brighten and bring joy to the residents
