Full Description
We consider it a privilege to play our small part in your Wedding Day, a magical occasion made all the more memorable by the addition of some stunning fresh flowers. Our aim is simple, we want you to be speechless with delight when you first set eyes on your wedding flowers. At your private consultation we’ll enjoy an often lengthy discussion about your likes and dislikes, we’ll ask about your wedding theme and colour schemes, the church or venue, we’ll even ask about your dress! This is so that we can properly understand your vision for the day and then advise you accordingly on which flowers and different types of floral arrangements are best suited to you. It is our attention to detail which truly sets us apart, we’ll consider every nuance, the fragrance of your bouquet and how it sits against your dress, which flowers hold a special place in your heart, what overall feeling your flowers should evoke. Our inspirations begin with the smallest glimmer of an idea, a swatch you may have brought in of your bridesmaid’s dress fabric, your grandmother’s cameo brooch, a mossy terracotta pot you like. Together we’ll find a way to communicate your story, your personalities and ultimately your vision. We all deserve the fairy tale!

What about your business are you most proud of?

It is our great honour to be in the ‘Dream Team’ for The Ashes Country House Barn Wedding Venue in Staffordshire, and you can be sure of inspired design and skilled craftsmanship combined with a professional approach from The Topiary Tree.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

PEOPLE love flowers. If you take the plunge and spurge a little on your wedding flowers with a trustworthy florist who knows her/his stuff, trust me, you will be applauded for your decision. We hear from brides all the time that EVERYONE couldn’t stop talking, commenting, ooohing and ahhing over the flowers. We even hear from other vendors how beautiful the flowers are. Photographers love taking extra photos of them. Grandparents love pillaging arrangements at the end of the evening, and your bridesmaids won’t stop squealing when their bouquets arrive. Flowers evoke joy, celebration, and sacredness. And who wouldn’t those qualities infused into their day?

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Here at The Topiary Tree Florist nothing gives us more pleasure than to see our Bride flushed with emotion when we present her with her finished bridal bouquet. Over the last twenty years it has been a great privilege to create some unique and very emotive bridal bouquets for some very special ladies and the Heirloom Bouquets are some of the most memorable. In recent months, we have been personally commissioned to work two small antique family portraits into one Bride’s bouquet. The beautiful antique frames housed a small portrait of her grandparents who had sadly passed away, she wanted to remember them on her big day and asked what we could do. We designed a completely unique bouquet which discretely held the two pictures in place, the bouquet was beautiful and we knew we'd done all right when the Bride had to choke back her tears when she saw it!!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

We love to hear all of your wedding plans and talk all things floral! Consultations are by appointment only with our very talented Professional Florist, Rose. An informal chat over a cuppa is where it all starts! We have a dedicated consultation area…Here you will find a range of books, magazines and fresh flowers for inspiration. During your initial consultation we will find out about you, your likes, dislikes, style and vision. We will talk about the venue, the dress, the colours and then come up with a vision that evokes everything to make your wedding.

What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?

The most interesting bridal bouquet was when a bride explained that she simply couldn’t be without her lip-gloss at any cost and was quite beside herself at the idea she wouldn’t have it to hand on her wedding day. Together, we came up with the ingenious idea of incorporating a secret compartment within her bridal bouquet which held her lip-gloss and a tiny mirror. She loved it and it worked a treat, her lips were glossy all day and she exuded confidence.
