What is your most memorable wedding?
Honestly they are all memorable in their own ways for different reasons. We love a wedding full of personal touches that reflect the couple, this might be favoured colours of the couple, places that mean a lot to both of them, or just a style that reflect them both.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Your style is our style!
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our award winning customer service and the amount of recommendations we receive from past clients, people who have attended weddings we have provided flowers for and the recommendations we gain from other wedding suppliers and venues.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Try not to stress and worry about things. Don't be in a hurry to get things organised too quickly but also don't leave everything till the last minute. Most couples plan a wedding 2 years to 6 months pre the wedding. Final choices with us need to be made around 2-4 weeks prior to the wedding
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
We really liked how one couple chose a ceremony venue to reflect the Groom's background and a reception venue that reflected the Bride's and they combined both to create a seaside meets country garden theme, it really worked and perfectly combined both of them as people and as a couple.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We work with the couple how they wish to work with us. This tends to be a meeting which lasts around an hour to talk about ideas and show our past work, we will then email a quote to the couple, we then request a booking fee to secure the wedding date with us. Between then and the wedding date we email to keep up to date with any changes and answer any questions. We may have another meeting mid way through wedding planning with the couple and then arrange a final meeting about one month before the wedding to confirm everything and take final payment. We work in a relaxed but efficient way with our couples.
What is the most interesting thing you have put in a bouquet?
Seashells and starfish I think with matching buttonhole for the Groom or a lego Bride with a Lego Groom included in the Groom's buttonhole.
Is there a flower that has specific symbolism that you would recommend for brides?
We always ask if their is a flower that means a lot to our couples, this could be any flower for any reason, for example one of our 2018 couples have requested Tulips for their wedding as the Groom is half Dutch and Tulips are the flower of Holland. We believe this holds a lot more symbolism to a specific couple rather then a flower such as a red rose which is known for meaning love.
What is the most romantic flower and why?
Again I think this will depend on the couple. One Bride's most romantic flower was a pink carnation as that was the first flower her Husband had bought her when they were first dating and he has always bought her them, so it was the most important flower to feature in the wedding for them.
What should you do with the flowers after the wedding?
Enjoy them for as long as you can! We always deliver hand tied bouquets in a presentation box which contains a jar with some water, to keep the flowers as hydrated as possible, we suggest keeping the flowers in water for as long as you can before the wedding and then putting the flowers back into water once photographs have been taken. Lots of our Brides use the boxes with their bouquets and the Bridesmaids bouquets as extra decoration for their venue, be it along the top table, beside the cake or on a fireplace. Shower bouquets are designed in a holder which keeps the flowers hydrated, simply adding some extra water to the holder the morning after the wedding will help to prolong the flower life. There are various ways of preserving your flowers, you can have the bouquets professionally dried and framed (this can cost a lot more than people expect) you can try to dry the flowers yourself or you can press the flowers. One of our Mother's of the Bride's took the Bride's bouquet home with her after the wedding (Bride went away on Honeymoon the day after her wedding) she enjoyed the bouquet as it was for nearly two weeks and then when the flowers were starting to fade she took two or three of each type of flower her daughter had in her bouquet and pressed them. Once the flowers were pressed she framed them along with the lace which was wrapped around the stems of her daughter's bouquet. There are certain flowers which dry or press better than others so if this is something you are wanting to do with your flowers it is best to let us know and we can suggest the best flowers for this.
