- Jon Pickard (www.jonpickard.co.uk) plays a wide range of musical styles to provide something for everyone at your wedding. He has been doing this for over 25 years and has played for over 1000 public and private events, about half of which were weddings. His guitar is a Flamenco guitar, on which he plays not just Spanish, Flamenco and Classical music but also countless arrangements of Popular, Modern & Easy Listening tunes. The nylon string guitar provides a silky smooth tone compared with steel strings and is arguably better suited to playing self accompanied instrumental tunes. It can also sing tough and has punch when needed, to stimulate the listener and add dynamics to the playing. On Piano Jon plays timeless love songs and Jazz standards - everything from gentle, melodic tunes to uptempo swing, providing an unforgettable musical ambience. Full details, recordings and testimonials are on the website www.jonpickard.co.uk

What is your most memorable wedding?
I can't choose just one. Each one is individual and so many have been so wonderful.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I have worked so hard on my musical training because I get my greatest pleasure in sharing my music with other people. I maintain my skills with daily practice even after all these years. I do this because I love it and to see the pleasure it gives others is the greatest reward for me.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Enjoy every aspect of the planning of your wedding and choose your musician carefully!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
From the initial contact (often more than a year ahead) right through to the Big Day we are in touch as much as required - but most of the details (styles of music required, special tunes for the ceremony, venue logistics etc) are worked out in the early stages. Contracts are exchanged at the point of booking, to secure the date and offer peace of mind.
