Full Description
  • A highly professional and experienced solo piper covering Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, London, Hertfordshire. I have been playing for over 30 years as a solo piper and also in pipe bands across New Zealand, UK and continental Europe. I pride myself on a high level of musicianship, a professional attitude to service and a large repertoire that I am constantly innovating on to help my customers get what they need for their event. Here is just one example of where I helped a bride and groom create a unique and lasting memory: they wanted a scifi themed bagpipe medley so I created a compilation just for them and played it as they walked out of the church, much to the surprise and delight of their guests. You can book with confidence. Request a quote - Confirm booking with a deposit (14 day refundable before the event) - I will turn up on time in a full pipers outfit, Royal Stewart - you pay the remaining amount after the event. A little bit about myself: I learnt the pipes in New Zealand when studying for an engineering degree at Auckland University and have since played in pipe bands in Auckland and in the UK and for many years as a solo piper across Europe. My mother and grandfather both played the pipes and had their own pipe band in Chingford, plus my Aunt was in the famous Dagenham girl pipers. My sister also learnt to play the pipes at the same time as myself and went on to become an excellent drummer. So you can see that my family's pedigree in the great highland bagpipes is indeed extensive. Thank you for visiting my profile page and I look forward to hearing from you, Julia Read (Scottish Piper)
  • Personal Message from the Manager
    Name of Wedding Contact: Julia
I look forward to working with you to create a performance that is meaningful to you. I play a range of traditional Scottish tunes, but have also been asked by brides and grooms to play some more modern and unusual pieces that mean something particular to them. My aim is to provide quality musicianship, a high level of service and a strong visual impact in a full Pipers uniform for the purpose of creating a lasting memory that will be fondly remembered for years to come by you and your guests.
