What is your most memorable wedding?
All of them are special.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Classy, cool, relaxed, smooth, professional.
What about your business are you most proud of?
That we give excellent quality for a fair price.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Allow us to help take the stress away. We have played at hundreds of events and are here to help your Wedding go smoothly.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One wedding, in a marquee, was set out for an afternoon tea type reception and the Bride and her Mum had spent ages sourcing china teacups & saucers, tiered cakestands which were all different coloured patterns, but looked so very pretty. They had also handmade and handpainted the placecards.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
The first approach is usually via email to establish the date of the Wedding and our availability and price. The fee depends on how many sets of music are required and whether we need to add on fuel costs. Then we progress to chatting on the phone.
If the venue is local to us [Mansfield] we can usually meet the couple at their chosen venue to discuss where we will be setting up to play and get an idea of the intended timetable.
If the venue is not local, and visiting it before hand is not feasible, we will go through everything with the couple via email and telephone. This ensures everyone knows what is happening on the day.
We then send a contract requesting a deposit. This secures the booking and the balance of payment is due on the day.
A short while before the Wedding we contact the couple to confirm all the details.
What makes a romantic first dance?
As we play for the meet and greet or dinner part of the Wedding, we are not usually asked to be involved in songs for dancing.
Most of the songs in our repertoire have lyrics about love.
What is your number one floor-filler?
We play music for dinner, canapes or drinks receptions, not for dancing. So we are mainly live background music and ambience rather than dancing.
But we have two 'signature' songs, really. One is 'Fever' and the other is 'Smooth Operator.'
Which band from the past would you most like to have been part of?
Santana.
What is the soundtrack to your life?
Tricky question. Most probably The Diamond Life album by Sade.
