Full Description
I am James Robinson, I am a self-employed full time professional photographer for my own business Adept Imagery. You have probably looked at a dozen different photographers and heard all the buzzwords 'unobtrusive' 'relaxed', there are hundreds, so what makes me unique? Well, I served in the military for 12 years leaving with a conduct record of exemplary, I am always immaculately turned out to any wedding or event I attend, I won't turn up to your wedding in chinos with a polo shirt because its disrespectful and reflects poorly on me as a professional, I will arrive on time (Usually I am an hour early because if you are early you can't be late!) I will have a good laugh with your guests and you can expect me to be kind and courteous, I pride myself on my professionalism and I am a full-time wedding photographer. Wedding photography is not a side hustle for me therefore I have invested a lot of time, money and myself into my business and I am absolutely determined to give the best possible experience for all of my past, current, and future customers. I am Accredited by City and Guilds and I hold the following qualifications in photography; City&Guilds Accredited Programme workshop diploma in Wedding and Portrait Photography City&Guilds Accredited Programme workshop diploma in Advanced Wedding and Portrait Photography City&Guilds Accredited Programme workshop diploma in Digital Manipulation NCON Level 3 Award in Photography Ofqual 600/9343/2 NCON Level 3 Award in Graphic Design (Pixel-Based Image Manipulation) Ofqual 500/8846/4 I am a technical perfectionist, I take what I do extremely seriously and I believe that you can't achieve perfection without the best equipment, that is why I have invested heavily in my equipment so that I am not limited by it, I triple backup all of my work so there is no chance that any coverage I do can be lost in a freak accident and I also have my own printing facilities.

What is your most memorable wedding?

This is a very difficult question, every wedding is different and I genuinely love the buzz and the energy surrounding them, every couple is different so every wedding I have shot has a very memorable aspect to it.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Professional, Fun, Relaxed, Precise and Friendly

What about your business are you most proud of?

I am proud to have turned my passion into my way of making my living, every aspect of running my own business is a challenge which I enjoy.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Book the venue first don't get bogged down with all the small details, once you have your venue everything else will slot into place.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

One of my Grooms, his father passed away 3 days before his wedding, he was terminally ill and had told my groom that he wanted the wedding to go on even if he wasn't there, they gave him a seat at the top table and placed a Wolves FC jersey on the seat (His dad was a lifelong Wolves fan), there were flowers in his spot and a little plauque infront that read 'Gone to the match'

Describe your typical process with a couple.

A couple express interest and I will forward them the details of what is included either via email, over the phone or face to face. If the couple then decide to book me I send an invoice for my work and my contract, once this is accepted then we will either have a conversation over the phone or a face to face meeting to discuss the finer details. Once this has been done there isnt really much else to do, if the couple want an engagement shoot we will meet for that, but other than that I will email every month or so to make sure they are okay and see how everything is getting on. about a month before the event the balance is due and we will either talk over the phone or meet face to face (or email if the couple prefer) to go through the finer details to make sure that the photography coverage runs smoothly on the day.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The large group shot, It isn't always possible to get a photograph of everybody but at least if you get a large group shot you will have a photograph with everybody who attended.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

A little girl once asked me to take a photograph of her while she was standing in front of the wedding car holding a sign in front of her face that read 'im cute'.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbrellas!

Describe how you got into photography.

I discovered my love for photography whilst I was serving in the Army, I had always worked in professional engineering and I was dissatisfied with it for a long time but resigned myself to the fact that most people don't enjoy their job, I discovered my love for photography and the more time went on the more I yearned to be a photographer, the first time I shot a wedding I knew exactly what I wanted to do, now here I am.
