Ami Robertson Full Description
I LIVE FOR LOVE. 10yrs I have been in the world of wedding photography. Its the best job in the world and I am thankful everyday that this is what I do. There is so much reward in stopping time for people so they can revisit the most precious of memories. Every wedding I photograph has a special place in my heart. I have cried at many a ceremony, laughed at some incredible speeches and witnessed some of the best dance moves. I love to build a personal relationship with my couples so that on the day I become a part of it and can really capture the authenticity of their wedding. Weddings for me are the ultimate human experience, its one of the few times in people's lives that they have everyone they love around them in the same place. Thats why it's so important to me to tell a story of your day through imagery that will be timeless and only increase in sentimental value as time goes on. As well as weddings and photography I have several other passions. My family is the first, split between London and Devon spending as much time with them as possible is a number one priority for me. After that I am a deep lover of anything to do with animals, nature and being outside is incredibly important to me. I also love to have adventures through travel and I spent most of my early 20s living in the mountains of various European countries. I love rich colours and beautiful light and my work very much reflects that. Atmosphere and emotion are the driving forces behind my work. My camera is generally always with me as I get just as excited about photographing the world around me as I do weddings. I love to find beauty in the most unexpected of places. If you are looking for a wedding photographer who will value your memories as much as you do and who wants to immerse themselves in the joy of your day then you have come to the right place.

Ami, the photos are soooo good...
Ami, The photos are SOOOO good!! You did such a good job at capturing everything, and we are so so appreciative. Even our parents are raving about them. We can't figure out how you were able to be everywhere at the same time! Thank you so much for all of your hard work, we're over the moon to have our wedding weekend so beautifully documented.

I am so proud of the photos Ami took...
Ami photographed our wedding two years ago. I knew as soon as I saw her portfolio online she had the talent and style I'd dreamed of. Even now, I'm so proud of the photos she took because she made me feel incredibly comfortable on the day and I love looking back over them and seeing each part of my wedding captured in such a beautiful way. I personally love ami's talent and to this day enjoy seeing other weddings she has captured! She is also very professional, positive, proactive and great at utilising whatever happens on the day.. . On my wedding day there was a storm, which was hugely worrying, but ami took some incredible photos of my veil blowing around me in the wind and its now a lovely memory! Over two years ago but I'm still so thankful!

Frequently Asked Questions

What is your most memorable wedding?

All of my weddings have been incredibly memorable! I am so fortunate that every single one of my couples over the years have been totally in love and made a point of making their wedding as individual and as awesome as they are. It would be impossible to say who was the most memorable.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Authentic, honest, timeless and documentary with a traditional twist.

What about your business are you most proud of?

I am mega proud of the level of service my clients receive. I only shoot 20 weddings a year and no more than 2 a month so waiting times for the final photos is within 4 weeks and emails are always replied to promptly. Couples always become my friends and the experience of working with me is a personal one.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Enjoy it. You only get to do do this once and the whole experience should be amazing and fun. It's something you should do together and put your personal stamp on. And never forget the reason you are getting married is because you have found your soulmate, the person you want to grow old with.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

Probably all the amazing speeches I get to witness. I have seen so many that have made me cry and laugh, they are such a wonderful part of the day because it's a time to reflect on the relationship the couple have built not only with themselves but with the two families coming together.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

Usually initial contact is made and then I reply with a massive congratulations and my collections brochure along with a few full weddings to have a browse of so they can get a real feel of my work. Next stage is a proper chat which is either in person or by Skype dependant on location. Once a decision is made then the contract and booking fee is sorted to secure the date. I always add my clients on Facebook if they are on there so they can keep up to date with me and my work. A month before the wedding final payment is made and we discuss the final timings of the day and their group photo list. We then have the wedding which is always amazing and then a preview blog post follows a couple of days later. The final photos are delivered within 4 weeks both on a online gallery to download in high resolution so they can easily share the photos with friends and family. After that the album design is done with the couples in put and they get a huge choice of covers.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Confetti :) it's always amazing and colourful and fun!

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I once had 5 generations of women from the brides family, such a special photo and that's why I always get the couples in put with their group photos.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

A bold and brave attitude. Rain doesn't stop you from getting amazing photos, in fact rain can create amazing photos plus we all know it's good luck for the marriage

Describe how you got into photography.

A creative journey. I have always loved taking photos and I have spent years developing my skill alongside a tireless passion for people in love. Weddings was a natural transition and the whole experience has been incredible.
