What is your most memorable wedding?
The wettest wedding you have ever seen! Despite the rain it was beautiful, romantic, funny and emotional - an amazing day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, relaxed, fun, light and airy.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The ethics - do no harm, put people first. As my Nan used to say "It's nice to be important but more important to be nice".
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Write a realistic time line and build in extra time for delays - everything takes longer on a wedding day. Don't forget to tell people where they need to be, what they need to do and what time it all happens.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A quiz about the couple designed to make guests mingle and chat.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We chat by email or telephone and then meet for a cuppa and a chat. If this goes well we plan the pre-wedding shoot.
After the pre-wedding shoot we relax with a drink and plan the shoot list and time line for the wedding.
After the wedding I deliver the images within 4 weeks - usually less.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A simple portrait of them at their venue - timeless and will be loved by their children and grandchildren.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
There's a fashion now for special effects and for things to be "photoshopped in ". I have created an explosion for a client but it isn't something I would expect to be asked often!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
White umbrellas - I always have a few with me as they don't clash with any colour scheme.
Describe how you got into photography.
Same as everyone else - I started using my grandfather's camera as a child and the rest is history!
