Full Description
Ciao, I'm Berni and I am an Italian photographer currently based in beautiful England. In a previous life, I used to study Russian language and art and spent a few years in the US. So I think it's fair to say that multiculturality is at the heart of everything I do. Because of that, my couples are often from different parts of the world and it's not rare for me to travel abroad to photograph their day. My love for visual art also plays a big influence on my style, and the biggest compliment someone can pay to one of my photographs is to say that it looks like a painting (!). I love photographing small, intimate weddings where the focus is on the people - family and friends- and the love between them. Truth is I just love telling stories. On the day, I try to walk in my couple's shoes and see everything through their eyes, photographing what means the most to them in a creative, slightly unusual way. Putting people completely at ease and not to intrude are also very important things to me, so I like to think that empathy is a key feature in my approach to photography. My prices currently start from £1350 for a full day coverage, but as I realise that every wedding is different, I am always open to listen to my couple's specific needs and work out something especially for them. The absolute best way to get in touch with me is dropping me an email berni@bernipalumbo.com. If you saw a little bit of yourself in what I wrote, please feel free to drop me a line. I would love to have an informal chat!

What is your most memorable wedding?

I don't take too many weddings because I want to create a real connection with the couple, so to every wedding I have photographed there are at least a couple of moments I am attached to.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Timeless, intimate, relaxed, artistic, empathetic

What about your business are you most proud of?

The diversity of my couples. I am very lucky to attract lots of multicultural couples which is something I love and I am hoping to work with even more diverse couples.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Your wedding day is most definitely a special day, often the only chance you have to have all the people you love in the same place at once. Don't waste it stressing out about the details. Make sure you hire a team of suppliers you feel a connection with and trust and enjoy.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A table plan with an illustration/portrait of every single guest (!). Absolutely stunning and wowed everyone!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

The main thing about the process is that I make a point of treating my couples as people and not numbers. I try to reply as promptly as I can to every communication and deal with them according to their individuality. The last thing I'd want is to offer an impersonal experience.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Tough question, but if I had to choose I'd say... The confetti photo! Nothing says we're married like confetti :)

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

I have a whole article about this: https://bernipalumbo.com/rain-on-your-wedding-day/

Describe how you got into photography.

It might sound clichè, but it really was always a passion of mine. When I was 10 or so, I made my little brother model for me and even organised a little exhibition of my photographs for my family. My love for photography combines several aspects of my personality and, in particular, my desire to portrait people and places the way I see/feel them. This is what I try and do for my couples too, see and feel what they care about and capture it for them to remember.
