What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding may actually be the first one I ever shot. I was honoured to have been asked by a very close friend who liked what she had seen of my photography. I will never forget the build up - the preparation (scouting the location, inspiration from many sources including pinterest, ensuring that all of my equipment was ready to handle a wedding) the nerves, the excitement and feeling of knowing there was no way I could or would let her down. Well it was the most fantastic day which also included me shooting the whole wedding party from the comfort (!) of a lifeboat as the groom wanted a shot of everyone by the church that could only be taken from within the lake! It was thoroughly exhausting but by the end of the day, (in fact, within the first hour) I knew that this was what I wanted to do. It gave me the chance to delve into the world of wedding photography and I've never looked back. And I still have the same build up for every wedding I shoot: the preparations, nerves and excitement - that what makes my job so fantastic!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Contemporary, artistic, storytelling, emotive, fun!
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud of the relationships I build with my clients and the beautiful wedding albums I design and offer.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
When choosing a photographer, make sure they are the perfect fit for you as a couple, as this will ensure that you are super relaxed (as much as you can be anyway!) and that your photos will be beautiful and natural. Chat about your budget and what is important to you - there are plenty of things you can scrimp and save on but the photography should last a lifetime so take your time to find your perfect photographer :)
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I love a kiss at sunset!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Umbrellas! Luckily I always keep plenty in my car for just that occasion :) and they make for great photos!
