What is your most memorable wedding?
My most memorable wedding was at a local town hall. There was no more than 10 people present, including the bride and groom! It was intimate and emotional to say the least!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Soulful, Intimate, Truthful, Timeless.
What about your business are you most proud of?
I am proud to have turned a hobby into my full time profession. I enjoy waking up and doing something that I am very passionate about!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Whoever you book, whether it be a photographer, a dj, a make up artist or even a decor company, be sure that you and your partner are both comfortable with the person you are dealing with. Make sure you are confident that they understand your needs before booking. If it's a photographer, make sure that you can be yourselves around them; after all, out of all the suppliers, your photographer will be around you the most!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A party loving couple had a box full of flip flops on the dance floor. The sign next to it read "Please help yourselves to slippers and dance the night away".
Describe your typical process with a couple.
All weddings that l am booked for start with an informal chat via phone or e-mail so I can hear about the couple's journey together and all the finer details about their big day. I provide a very personal experience and I liaise with the bride and groom myself, throughout. I give each wedding my full attention, that is why I only take on a limited number of bookings per year.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A candid photo of them sharing a special moment, NOT looking at the camera - a special moment can not be recreated yet it tells their unique story!
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A photo of a bride pushing a groom in a trolley, which they stumbled upon in a corridor of the venue. I kid you not - it actually happened! The photo turned out pretty decent though!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
An umbrella, wellies and a smile! I just love rainy photos!
Describe how you got into photography.
I've always been a creative type, but it wasn't until I picked up a camera that I realised my true vocation. From a passion grew a career, as more and more members of friends and family chose me to capture their memorable events. I discovered the power of images to tell a story, but even better, I discovered how happy, special and magical those images could make people feel.
