- For us, there’s nothing more important than family and that’s exactly what Chocolate Chip is... a family. Chris and Shazia have relationships with their clients that transcend the typically client/photographer barrier. All of our clients are now friends and our relationship with you something that is extremely important to us. Every couple, whether they’re getting married or wanting a newborn photography experience, are looking for memories that they can treasure for a lifetime, but it’s not just that... they want images that take their breath away. Have you ever thought about what will happen to your wedding images in the years to come? The perfect memories can be passed down from generation to generation. You can look forward to the day that you show your future children your wedding photographs, or the moment when you can look back on Gran and Grandad dancing at your wedding. You only get one chance so make sure you’re part of the family that will look after you and be there for the rest of your life.

What is your most memorable wedding?
A tipi wedding on the outskirts of Durham. The tipis were set up in the middle of a field surrounded by trees, guests sat on chesterfield sofas around camp fires and sat up until all hours playing guitar and singing. The most relaxed and creative wedding we've ever been to.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Fun, Quirky, Relaxed, Creative, Natural
What about your business are you most proud of?
Our first class customer experience and the outstanding level of happiness among our clients. Our recent Wedding Customer Service Award was the result of our continued desire to make sure our clients have the most enjoyable time with us.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't stress the little things
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personalised alcoholic ice lollies for a hot, summer wedding
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We'll meet a couple and have a great conversation with them. We'll find out about them and what they're like as a couple. We'll find out what they're looking for and what's important to them. We'll look at what we can do for them and if that fits in with their vision for their wedding day. We want them to be comfortable around us and want them to feel like part of the family.
What is the #1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A photograph of the couple having a cuddle. On most wedding days, our couples don't actually get to spend that much time together, in between talking to guests and everything else that's going on. Taking 5 minutes for themselves and having an intimate moment where they can just cuddle and chat for a second is always nice. There's nothing fake about that and it's a lovely natural moment.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
We weren't asked to take this, but at our tipi wedding we carried a chesterfield sofa 100 yards across a field to set it up with the tipis in the background. We waiting until the light started to go and asked our couple to take a seat. The image has been an iconic symbol of Chocolate Chip for several years now. It's completely unique and we've never seen it done anywhere else.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Bring your wellies and an umbrella.
Describe how you got into photography.
We initially studied film and video production at university and spent years working in the video production and media industry. We fell into photography during this time. After doing much corporate work, we started photographing weddings about 8 years ago and found we did a very good job at making our clients happy. More couples kept booking and now here we are.
