Full Description
So, here's a little bit about me. I am married to Anna and we have two wonderful kids; Jago (16) and Ruby (13). Harley, the working cocker spaniel, completes our little team. We live in Farnham, Surrey but I travel all over the country shooting weddings. In my spare time (of which I have loads, of course) I run (I did the Marathon des Sables in 2013 and am still going out to lunch on it!), playing tennis and have become a bit of a CrossFit addict. It all helps when I am on my feet all day at a wedding, or mucking about on a family shoot. Why do I like photographing weddings, families and people in general? I like the notion that I am creating a little slice of social history. I record people, their friends, their family and their special occasions; memories that might otherwise be fuzzy or even lost. My aim is to try to make the best photograph that exists of the person or people in question. To make photos that will sit on the mantlepiece or in the album, be passed down through the generations and say, "That was me, that was us, look what we did together". Wedding photos should get more and more important and valuable the further away from the wedding day you get. I am lucky to have an incredibly satisfying job that has never once felt like a job.

What is your most memorable wedding?

Having shot more than 500 weddings this is a tricky one! I shot a wedding a couple of years ago in a marquee on Sandbanks in Poole in Dorset that just ticked every box and was really very special. You can see all the photos here... http://www.everybodysmile.biz/cgi-bin/public.cgi?Id=212651

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Relaxed, fun, natural, spontaneous, emotive

What about your business are you most proud of?

I am proud that I have never had to advertise my business. I rely on word of mouth recommendations which means I have to not only take great photos week in, week out but also that I have to be the right person at every wedding I shoot.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Don't over plan! Give you wedding the chance to ebb and flow and take on it's own shape on the day.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

How about a giant motorised (ironic) swan? http://www.the-wedding-insider.com/index.php/get-a-giant-motorised-swan/ Hilarious!
