What is your most memorable wedding?
My first ever one as a photographer, I didn't get paid but I was absolutely terrified but loved it at the same time.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, Joyful, Colourful, Emotional, Vibrant.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The feedback I get from my couples. Playing such an important role in the biggest day of somebody's life and delivering images that genuinely touch them is extremely rewarding.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Take it one step at a time. Book your venue then look for a photographer and so on. I always think a band works better than a disco.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
One made me laugh recently when the bride had several photos framed and displayed in the gents toilets of all the grooms dodgy hairstyles through the years! It's always great if people can throw in a bit of humour!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
Once I take an enquiry we arrange a phone or Skype call. Once the booking is confirmed we lease around 1 month prior to the wedding and I send over a planning document covering essential information for the day, timings, must have shots etc.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
A backlit sunset shot is my "Signature Shot" I guess.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A groom giving his bride a piggyback, it's also one of my favourite ever shots!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Tell it like it is, there's no point in pretending it didn't happen and you'll want to remember your day as it was. Nothing wrong with a few umbrellas or indoor shots!
Describe how you got into photography.
My parents always took terrible family photos and my wife has a really bad memory so photography became and important way for me of documenting life. Once I had bought my first DSLR around 10 years it became a real passion and I dreamed of being able to do it for a living one day.
