I have been shooting weddngs since 2001. I never really set out to become a wedding photographer, I had trained at a top commercial studio where fashion and advertising was the everyday norm, but people started asking me to shoot their weddings and I quickly fell in love with them.
I like to start the day at the brides home to document the whole 'getting ready' process - this is probably one of my favourite parts of the whole day. And during my time with the bride and her family in the morning is where I get a good sense of how the whole day will run. Often I have been the one to dress the bride, attach dad's button hole, buckle shoes, wipe noses, calm people down, distract, keep an eye on time, keep secrets and lots of other little jobs as well as being the photographer. I blend.
I like to capture the day as it unfolds, all those little moments with a few romantic poses and family groups thrown in here and there. And yes, there is a certain structure to most weddings, but i have become very good at keeping it all going for my couples without them even realising.
I know how important this day is, i have been through it myself. It should be the happiest and easiest day of your life so far. It is my aim as your photographer to make sure that while I am there, it is.
