The Snapper Full Description
I’m an affordable London wedding photographer. I think couples get really exploited by a lot of wedding suppliers, including wedding photographers who charge exorbitant fees, so I try to put ethics, transparency and affordability at the heart of what I do. I've photographed well over 200 weddings, and have well over 100 five-star verified Google Reviews, which should indicate that I am a proper professional wedding photographer! As well as wedding photography, I also undertake a range of photojournalistic, documentary, live music, event and corporate assignments. I use a contemporary yet vintage/retro style, and shoot with an observational/reportage/documentary approach. I work mainly in London and the South East but also work on commissions across the UK.

Captured very many brilliant moments
My husband and I are delighted with the photos that Harmit took of our wedding. He captured very many brilliant moments, despite challenging light conditions, and it was extremely straightforward to book him (even though it was over a year in advance!). Harmit was also very conscious of making sure that we had time to enjoy the reception, helping us to ensure that formal photos took up little time (something we hadn't really considered could be an issue until he told us).

Brilliant and straightforward to work with
I am so pleased we were able to book Harmit for our afternoon tea celebration. Right from getting in touch, to booking, to receiving the photos, he has been brilliant and straightforward to work with. We're so happy with the photos Harmit took of our event, giving us memories to treasure, and could not recommend him highly enough.

Impeccable in every way
Impeccable in every way. Harmit is an incredible photographer and an absolutely lovely guy. Below I review the three aspects that are arguably the most important to any budding couples out there, photography, organisation, and The Snapper in action on the Day. Very organised, professional and easy to talk to
We booked Harmit for our wedding at the Tudor Barn, in Eltham. From the initial booking though to the end of our time with him on our wedding day, he made the whole thing effortless. He was very organised, professional and easy to talk to. We are thrilled with the photos and our friends and family have also said they loved the photos and how they were captured on the day. I would wholeheartedly recommend Harmit to anyone.

Many of our guests commented on how good he was
We booked Harmit for our wedding in October at Islington town hall. We absolutely loved the photos he took, and many of our guests commented on how good he was. He's been extremely helpful throughout the process, much more organised than us, and really transparent on pricing. He dealt with everything on the day very professionally, even the rain which started just before our photos! Would thoroughly recommend him, particularly for the town hall as he knew all the best spots for photos.

Harmit was absolutely fantastic shooting our London wedding on 7th October. Cool, calm and collected, he made us feel super at ease and relaxed throughout the day and the final pictures have come out fabulous. We're over the moon with them. Thank you Harmit!

Frequently Asked Questions
(10)

What is your most memorable wedding?

The one where Sir John Hurt was sitting in the front row, and I got to photograph the wonderful, iconic (and very lovely) actor!

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Soulful, unsentimental, Wes-Anderson-esque, equality-focused.

What about your business are you most proud of?

That I keep my prices low, and also divert part of the fee to charity. I don't want my business to be part of the 'wedding industrial complex' so want to be ethical in both my pricing and also by contributing to good causes through it.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Tell your DJ to play 'Everywhere' by Fleetwood Mac as the post-first dance floor filler! It works a treat every single time.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The toilets at the reception venue being filled by photographs of the couple!

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I provide loads of information on my website, but I also have a thorough pre wedding discussion with them to find out what they do and don't want from their weddings. By doing this, it means that on the day itself, I pretty much leave the couple alone, and I snap away, knowing exactly what they want.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The parting shot. I love to end the story of a couple's wedding day, with a final photo of them looking tired, maybe a little drunk, but very happy.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I took photos at a naturist wedding once, so you can imagine that all the photos were kind of... different. And in case you were wondering, the bride did actually wear a veil, and the groom did wear a bow tie. So, they did actually dress up for the wedding.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Umbrellas, obvs.

Describe how you got into photography.

As the youngest of 3 kids I was never allowed to take family pictures, I was the cute one who had to BE in every picture. So, that made the camera an object of desire until I got my first camera at 17. Never looked back after that, and eventually went on to do an MA in Photojournalism and Documentary at the London College of Communication. I still do some photojournalism work, but I honestly love photographing weddings more than anything else.
