OK, so you need pictures of your wedding. You know this because it’s tradition – and your mother keeps telling you, because she wants to treasure the images forever. You just can’t stand having your photo taken, even if you’re going to be looking totally amazing. Can you escape the lens? No, not really. But happily, there's a solution. It’s called Ian Bursill, and that’s me. Say goodbye to the clichés and prepare to be dazzled. With me, there’ll be no standing around in stiff poses and all sorts of awkward and contrived compositions that eat into your time and enjoyment of the big day. I know what today’s couples want and it’s subtlety, and the key with me is that you’ll hardly know I’m there; I blend in and am thoroughly unobtrusive. I believe in communicating with my clients (talking – remember that?), from start to way after the finish, so they get exactly what they want. Being honest and trustworthy in everything I do, as well as providing awesome customer service, is the only way to go. You’re young, professional – and have a great eye for the best things in life. On your wedding day, don’t settle for anything less.

What is your most memorable wedding?
How could I choose one wedding over so many great ones? They all are brilliant for different reasons. It's an honour to document a couple's special day.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Unobtrusive. Professional. Natural. Emotive. Timeless.
What about your business are you most proud of?
My customer service and the response I get from my couples when they see their images for the first time.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't stress it, enjoy and just go with the flow.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I see it at every wedding. The look of pride on a parent's face and that magical moment when the bride and groom's eyes meet as she walks down the aisle towards him. Simply amazing.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We meet. We hit it off. They book. They marry. I attend and narrate their wedding day. I deliver great customer service (is that enough?).
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
One where they aren't camera aware but are showing the true love they have for each other. That's priceless.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I don't pose or contrive images. They are all real moments (apart from the group shots and very lightly directed bride/groom portraits.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
An umbrella, a pair of wellies and the mindset that rain will not spoil your day - (it won't).
Describe how you got into photography.
A very boring answer, just like everyone else I suppose. My dad was a photographer, he bought me a camera, we had a darkroom at home. That's it (told you it was boring).
