In essence, a documentary wedding photographer should be telling a story, so you both will be able to share that story in years to come.

Photography Style

Reportage / Documentary
Full Description
My style of photography & film is reportage, also known as wedding documentary. I find this works best for weddings because each bride and groom are unique, as are your guests, so the most important role for me as your photographer is to capture the emotion and energy of the day. My photography & film packages are bespoke to suit your wedding budget, so you retain control of one of the most important days of your life. Your bespoke wedding photography & film package may consist of some or all of the following: 1. Bride & Groom Preparations 2. Guest Arrival 3. The Wedding Ceremony 4. The Wedding Breakfast 5. Speeches 6. The First Dance 7. The Evening Guests 8. High definition film coverage of your wedding to complement the photographic story 9. You may also choose to have film only All photography & film packages include: 1. Pre-wedding consultation to run through the details of your day, ideally at your wedding venue. 2. Final images in high resolution colour and black & white, for you to download and print as you so wish, typically delivered two weeks after the wedding. 3. Online password protected gallery for family and friends to purchase prints. 4. Peace of mind that you are working with a wedding photographer using only professional cameras and lenses. how to book me: I usually suggest we meet up or have a phone conversation to discuss your wedding day. I meet couples for the second time, about a month before the wedding, ideally at your wedding venue, to ensure that we have everything covered. After that, the next time I would see you is on your wedding day.

What is your most memorable wedding?

My own wedding to Shelley in 2002 at Baslow Hall, near Chatsworth.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

documentary, reportage, un-staged, story telling,

What about your business are you most proud of?

Treating every client as if they are my very first job.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Your actual wedding day will fly by. So it's important that you actually enjoy the day, and that means planning ahead in plenty of time, so you don't stress out the day before. My job is to capture the energy and emotion of your actual wedding day. I couldn't believe how quickly our wedding day flew by! We enjoyed every moment of it, because we had planned everything in such detail, well beforehand. That is my planning tip to you.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I usually suggest we initially meet up or have a phone conversation to discuss your wedding day. I meet couples for the second time, about a month before the wedding, ideally at your wedding venue, to ensure that we have everything covered. As my style is wedding documentary, I recommend we take a maximum of 6 formal group photographs. This means the rest of the time we can concentrate on those very special bride and groom images, using your chosen wedding venue as an imaginative backdrop. This is also the perfect time to think about those 6 group photographs you would like to have. After that, the next time I would see you is on your wedding day. Two weeks after the wedding, I will send you the link to your photographs.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I think all of my photos are original, because they are unique to the bride & groom and guests.

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Enjoy it! Have plenty of umbrellas. I should be the only one getting wet!

Describe how you got into photography.

I am a graduate of The Arts Institute at Bournemouth 1994. This was followed by 18 years in broadcast television as a camera operator and vision mixer, before making the transition to still photography, online film and digital marketing in 2012. I am a Canon photographer, using a full frame camera body with a range of professional lenses. I also produce high definition film content for small and medium sized business websites. I am based in Warwickshire, which serves me well for easy access to all parts of the UK and International airports.
