- I enjoy photographing the full day, from getting ready right through to the last dance. Capturing the full event shows how the day develops and how the story unfolds. The nervous anticipation, the emotions of the moment, the celebrations and partying. Throughout the day I'm looking for compositions which combine a number of aspects, but top of the list is always the emotions and relationships between everyone. There are fleeting moments where expressions and actions have a wonderful natural feel. I began as a landscape photographer, and the location of a wedding is always important in the photography. Finding the right place to stand so that I'm not in the way of guests but have options to show people in isolation or in combination of the surroundings or other people. The end result is a mixture of photographs, some posed, but many are stolen moments - hopefully ones that nobody else noticed until they see the final pictures.

What is your most memorable wedding?
They are all memorable, but the sounds of the Wallace and Gromit theme being played on a trombone and keyboard as the bride walked down the aisle will take some beating - if you ignore the one where the dog ate the cake!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Spontaneous emotional fun lively loveable
What about your business are you most proud of?
Enjoying each wedding is what I'm most proud of. I do things better when I enjoy them.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Leave it to the bride ;-)
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I didn't see it, but I heard it - the brides brother composing the music medley for the brides walk down the aisle
Describe your typical process with a couple.
At least one meeting before the wedding to talk through what they like and how I approach the day. I try not to get too involved or get in people's way, but I get as involved as the couple want me to be. I'd rather not totally pose shots, but will give suggestions and advice.
What is the #1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think of a #1 photo, for me, photography is about relationships, observation and timing, so number one priority for me is capturing the feeling of love between the couple.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Don't hand around in the rain for a moment longer than necessary!
Describe how you got into photography.
My dad was a keen amateur photographer so I've always had an interest. I've studied photography as part of my fine art foundation course and my graphic design degree.
