Photography Style

Reportage / Documentary
Full Description
Wedding photography with a difference. I don’t want to give you the same ‘traditional’ photos that everyone else has, nor would you get the same photos that I’ve taken for other couples. I want to tell your story and give you really cool photographs that will take you straight back to what was happening and how you were feeling at that very instant. “Bonkers” is what I’ve been called by some of my couples. Who wants to be ‘normal’, the same as everyone else? I don’t do normal. I do unique. It’s not a photo shoot, it’s your story. Life is beautifully unpredictable, so you can expect the unexpected! There are no rules! You might call it documentary or reportage photography, you wouldn’t call it formal. I love observing people and taking pictures that really nail personalities and characters, showing real people being relaxed and natural. I prefer to avoid “wedding faces” and awkward poses, clichés and cheese. And there’ll definitely be NO RULES! Imagination and creativity are everything and I like injecting a little mischief, having fun and going with the flow. I believe it’s all about spontaneity, fun and trust. I capture the characters in your story; the excitement; the fabulous chaos (maybe!); the natural laughter and joy (and tears); and the tender, intimate moments that will effortlessly punctuate your day.

Fun, candid, relaxed, documentary, exciting

What about your business are you most proud of?

Doing it the way I want to do it. Booking the clients that I love to work with.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Personality. Make your wedding personal to you. What do you enjoy doing? How did you meet? Include all those special stories in the details

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

A couple had a Glastonbury Pyramid Stage cake as that's where they met. They also had festival style tickets and loads of other fun things

Be yourself. I'll work around you not pose

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Every wedding couple is completely unique so I can't name 1 picture

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

I've had a bride fall off a space hopper. Most people trust me to capture the day and not set it up

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Wellies and a brollie

Describe how you got into photography.

Saw a picture a friend took of Whitby and from that moment I just wanted to be able to take photos that well.
