What is your most memorable wedding?
I limit the amount of weddings I shoot per year and the reason for this is I want to get to know each and every one of my couples, spend the time learning their love story... which is why each and every wedding is just as memorable as the last.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, Natural, Creative, Emotive and Candid
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Remember it is your day!!!! Don't give in to pressure of friends and family members to invite a long lost relative or friend if you really don't want them there ... I have heard it before and I am sure I will hear it again "could you take that person out of the photos - we only had them because our friends/family wanted them there" ... I repeat IT IS YOUR DAY!!
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I start with a wedding consultation - discuss all the details with the couple and answer any questions they have. A contract is signed along with the deposit being paid. There are fun "worksheets" that are then sent out in the build up to the wedding, these help me get to know more about the couple and sometimes they learn a little about themselves too.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Indoor shots can be just as beautiful, sometimes the location is all about the exterior and they don't have suitable rooms or decor that you are after for your photos so I do offer a studio set up - really intimate - just the two of you ... couples are always surprised when they see the results.
Describe how you got into photography.
I have always been into art and all things creative, when I was just a child I had an odd fascination of going through old photography albums and boxes filled with family photos (I still do it) - it was in secondary school that I got into a dark room and got the chance to develop my own photographs - and from then I was hooked!!
