PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO THAT’S A LITTLE DIFFERENT TO THE REST I’m Lauren and I’m a fun and adventurous Hampshire wedding photographer and videographer with a contemporary edge and a relaxed approach! You’ll find no stuffy cliche’s here. It's all about the real moments of your day. I’m about keeping things natural, low-key and informal so I can capture all those little moments of candour with my distinctive style and a smidge of dramatic light. Raw emotions, real moments, epic backdrops and Grade A exquisite light are what inspire me! I can offer full day coverage, engagement sessions (a great way for us to get to know each other before the big day and for you guys to kick those nerves to the curb!), USB gift hamper, print packages and albums. I also offer additional shoot experiences like Cherish the dress (or trash it if that's your vibe) and bridal boudoir sessions. I pride myself on my level of service as I believe every one of my couples should feel special so I don't do more than 25 weddings a year. For me, communication is key so I like to make myself available from the minute we meet for recommendations, help and advice throughout, to ensure you have a stress free planning process. After the wedding you'll receive a preview gallery before the full set of images is uploaded. I think it's important to your guests to be able to view the images from the day so this gallery will be password protected for you to share with family and friends. They are also welcome to download the images, with my compliments.

Personal Message from the Manager

Name of Wedding Contact: Lauren
Hopefully you've read some of my Google testimonials and have a feel for who I am. I'm open and friendly with a professional approach (but there's always room for laughs!). I love working with couples I really click with, I find that I turn up at the wedding feeling more like a friend than an employee this way! I always suggest meeting a handful of photographers as you just never know who you're going to click with until you're in the same room! Drop me a line if you need any advice at all.

"Since we first saw Lauren's work on a friends wedding back in 2013 I knew that one day I would love to have my wedding shot in such a beautiful way. After recommending her to another of my friends too, it was finally my turn to get married and need a photographer. Since meeting with Lauren again to discuss our wedding details we knew she was the one to shoot our wedding. She completely got how important photos are to me, and that it was important to capture all of the little details that were being put into our wedding day. She was also very understanding and reassuring of a hubby to be that doesn't like his photo being taken. The engagement shoot was a really nice way to see how Lauren works with the couple and also put G at ease, we got some fab photos from it also which we love. We had the best wedding day, Lauren and David the second shooter were very professional and creative with their work. At some points in the day we didn't even notice they were there, they also mixed with the guests to get the best photos. Although we have only at the moment seen half of our wedding photos we have been utterly blown away. The moments that have been captured have made us smile, laugh and (me) cry. We will cherish these photographs for ever. We can't wait to see the rest of the photo's and also the wedding film that my mum had surprised us with. We will recommend Lauren to everyone, she has a fantastic talent and is a beautiful person. We can't thank you enough. Love Mr & Mrs Leeming 10/06/17"

"Lauren shot our wedding in July this year. We were delighted with her work. We had found her online and loved her soft, natural photographic style. We had an initial skype chat with her (as we live abroad) and felt at ease with her immediately. For the next 18 months of our engagement we kept in touch with her and she was great at responding promptly to ad hoc questions and ideas. On the day she was professional and clearly in control yet immediately put us at ease. She was very discrete so that the photographs were not intrusive and she handled an unwieldy group of guests and children very well for the official photographs. We would highly recommend her."

FAQ

What is your most memorable wedding?

I love it when the bride, her mum and girlfriends all get involved in decorating the wedding reception room. I've seen some really inventive and absolutely beautiful touches and it means so much more when they've all put so much time and effort in to it.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

I am most proud building my business from scratch by myself and the fact that it grows naturally every year.

What about your business are you most proud of?

The big group photos often aren't possible inside most venues so I usually do the biggest groups that I comfortably fit in. Though it rarely rains all day so sometimes it's possible to rally the troops and get everyone outside for a quick group photo, but that's always at the discretion of my couples. The couples portraits can easily be done inside with some window light and some clever use of fill in flash. Out of the 120+ wedding I've photographed, the rain/cold has only prevented outside photos on 4 occasions. Ideally I would make sure you choose a venue that has at least one big, beautiful room as you do need to consider background in group/bridal portraits.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

I would say to plan in more time than you think you need for each aspect of the day as things do inevitably run over and and the couple then feel rushed. I love seeing couples being able to fully enjoy the day.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

It has to be the one of the bride standing in the middle of a line of scotsmen wearing kilts and flashing their bottoms at me. I saw a little more than I wanted to that day :D

Describe your typical process with a couple.

I went on a round the world trip and took with me my little DSLR. I fell in love on that trip ;)

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

Earthy, fun, artistic, natural and contemporary

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Jen and Simon in May 2015. It was a Scottish RAF wedding with an hilariously naughty bride and groom, a very mischievous sword party and far too many bare bottoms. It was the most fun wedding I have photographed, I don't think I've ever laughed so much! The fact that I was so willing to get involved in the mad antics and have a giggle was the reason Jen and Simon said they'd chosen me!

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

An enquiry comes in and I respond as quickly as humanly possible but always within 24 hours. I ask on my form how they would lik eto converse in the beginning but it's generally via email. We set up a convenient time and place to meet up as I think it's so important to meet before taking any bookings. The photographer is the one suppliers that you'll likely spend all day with so it's really important to me that my couple feel totally at ease in my company. During the meeting we chat through the timings and details of the day. This is even before they book as I think it helps them to iron out any potential issue areas as for most, it's their first time planning a wedding whereas I have attended over 160 so my experience is often helpful here. I ask them to have a chat together afterwards about how they both feel about me, and then let me know if they'd like to go ahead. I'm very opposed to sales tactics and pressure selling so it's just the 'nice chat and see what happens' kind of appraoch. Once the booking is made a booking form is sent out to gather all their info then the deposit invoice and the contract are sent. Once the deposit is paid then the date is all theirs. Next we arrange the engagement session, to be held on a date and at a location that is suited to them. This helps us better get to know each other and I often find that it takes all the nerves out of the photos on the day. Some couples bring their children and others bring their dogs. I'm very easy going about who comes along, it's their shoot after all :) I keep in fairly constant communication throughout and offer any help and advice that I can along the way. I sometimes meet again with the couple and we often arrange a walk around the venue to choose good spots for photos. This time is to iron out any issues and dispel remaining concerns before the big day. This isn't always necessary and, again, is up to my couples. I will check in with my couples the week before the wedding to make sure they are really happy with everything and then eventually the big day arrives!!

Describe how you got into photography.

Some couples don't want a portrait of just the two of them on the wedding day but I think this is a must. They often feel that it will look staged and they are uncomfortable having their photos taken but I have many ways of putting people at ease and capturing lovely natural images. The engagement session helps so much with this. Aside from having some beautiful photos of just the two of them, it also gives them a chance to get away from the madding crowd for 20 minutes and have a little time to themselves.
