Full Description
  • Nick John Lord photography offers a relaxed and friendly, but highly professional photography service, specialising in reportage style photography but always shoot groups as well. Two photographers attend the weddings at no additional cost, which ensures all those special little moments are captured. We photograph as much or as little of the day as you want - from the morning preparations, right through the ceremony, wedding breakfast, speeches and evening party if required. Or we'll just show up for the ceremony and confetti if that's all you would like. All prices include the post-shoot work we think is necessary to provide the absolute highest quality final images. We can also offer beautiful wedding books and thank you cards after the day.

FAQ
(10)
What is your most memorable wedding?
Sam and Sarah at Anstey Hall. We got on so well with them and felt like part of the wedding when the day came round! It was a beautiful hot sunny day and everybody was in great spirits. It was a pleasure to be part of it.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Classy. Warm. Modern. Sophisticated. Thorough.
What about your business are you most proud of?
The photos are the only thing bought for a wedding which will live on with them throughout their lives. To be the ones who provide that is very special.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Meet the photographer/s and be at ease with who they are. If you aren't at ease with them, chances are you guests won't be either. Friendly faces and a warm, helpful attitude are as important as their ability to take a good photo.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
This isn't one we photographed, but were guests at - the bride, groom and all their wedding party were dressed in medieval costumes. Amazing.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
We chat either on the phone or via email, then arrange to meet up and have an informal chat. If they want to book, we ask for a deposit and book it in the diary. Prior to the wedding we visit the venue with the couple if they wish, and chat through any requests and make suggestions etc. After the wedding we usually say 2 weeks approx, and then we put a secure album online, and provide all hi res photos on a download link or disk if preferred.
What is the #1 photo that you think every couple should take?
To us, all those special moments throughout the day are the most important ones, because they tell a story, from start to finish, of their amazing day. That is what we aim to give couples - a beautiful photo story of their day, with all the little precious moments included.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
We suggested an 'Evolution of man' photo for one groom and his grooms men - which worked brilliantly and was a cool, quirky touch.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Take pretty brollies and wellies. You can't stop it raining, so embrace it and have fun!
Describe how you got into photography.
Nick studied photography at college along with graphic design. We now run our own graphic design company, Smoke Media, through which we also do a lot of commercial and corporate photography. So wedding photography is a natural thing to offer as an additional service, and its one of the most fun and rewarding!
