What is your most memorable wedding?
Always get a cheeseboard
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Momentary, Natural, Non-Obtrusive, Honest, Beautiful
What about your business are you most proud of?
Ah man, definitely would have to be a wedding we shot in Norway last year. The landscapes are stunning and the people were so friendly. The couple we were capturing visuals for were super laid back, fun and up for creative shots. Always makes a wedding memorable!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
One for mum to frame. Simply a nice photo of you both together smiling to camera.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
I think for us we are simply very proud and honoured to have worked with some incredible couples who have hired us for the right reasons. The best wedding visuals we have produced are the weddings where the couple hires us because they have a high value on their wedding photography/videography.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
So as soon as we get an email from you we get that excited feeling in our stomachs which says 'You're wanted by a couple, yay!' - we then get over ourselves and send you a prompt reply back introducing ourselves etc.
If you choose to book with us we will send you an online booking form along with an invoice for 20% of the agreed fee upfront. Once those 2 things are back with us, your date is set in our calendar!
We value face to face communication so we usually try to arrange a coffee so we can meet you both, spend some time chatting about your wedding and generally just getting to know you. We think it's really important that there is a foundational relationship in place so that when we arrive at your wedding you feel super comfortable with us being around.
With our photography package we offer a complimentary engagement shoot. If you want to take us up on the (generous) offer, we would usually do this after grabbing coffee. Two birds with one stone kind of thing. We include engagement shoots in our photography packages because we really want you both to feel at ease on your wedding day. It can potentially be uncomfortable if you have never met your wedding photographer before the day its self. It's also a nice opportunity to have some pictures in a different context other than your wedding day.
Once all that is done, you will receive edited engagement shoot pictures and then 1 month before your wedding you will get an email from us requiring a final 'Day Details' form to be filled out so we have all the necessary info in place as well as your final invoice.
Then it's your wedding! Which is self-explanatory. We dont have a time cap although we roughly leave around 10/10.30pm (unless you have special exit plans like sparklers etc.) After your wedding (usually between 3-5 weeks) you will receive yet another email from us with a private, beautifully laid out online gallery with all your photos on. You can then download from that gallery and save them on your own devices for ever!
You will also receive a rather nice presentation box in the post with a few other goodies in as well as all your pictures or video on USB (Usually between 400-700 photos - we don't have a cap on the amount of pictures or length of video we deliver to you - wedding visuals are expensive and you deserve to get all the good stuff for the money you pay)
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
Both I and Dominic studied photography and video back when we were at school. I think teachers and certain family members being very passionate about it really lit the fire inside of both of us to pursue this whole creative career thing professionally.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
the couple reading books in a forrest
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
It always works out. Everytime. If worst came to worst, wait until there is a 1-2 minute dry patch and then get them snaps as quick as possible! (and then repeat that process maybe 5 more times.)
Or find somewhere nice inside.
Describe how you got into photography.
The couple being really into Wes Anderson movies and wanting to replicate some of their wedding pictures in that style. Great fun. It also reflected in their wedding reception which made a nice touch to the overall atmosphere.
