Full Description
  • Congratulations on your engagement! Your wedding photographs are how you’ll remember the day for the rest of your lives, and it’s important to find the right photographer for you, so feel free to ask me anything and really get to know me. My unobtrusive photojournalist approach lets you forget about me and focus on your guests and each other, while I find all those special moments and capture them in candid, natural photographs that tell the story of your day. Then I deliver them all to you as a digital archive to store on your computer, and most importantly of all, in a beautiful handmade fine art album for you and your new family to enjoy for a lifetime to come - they're made to last, so you'll never forget your wedding day.

Ask a question
What is your most memorable wedding?
The one where the Best Man let slip a few curse words in the speech, then apologised to all the children present, and the children shouted back "We don't mind! We like it!"...
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, intimate, personal, unobstrusive, stylish
What about your business are you most proud of?
How happy I can make people with something I made for them, from the photos themselves through to the albums that I know they'll treasure for decades to come. The smiles on their faces mean SO much.
What is your #1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Don't overthink it! And make choices that mean something to you, not anyone else in your family... ;)
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Photos of the couple throughout their relationship together as 'name plates' at table settings.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
First we'll have a wee chat on the phone to get a few basic details, then we'll all meet up for a coffee (or something stronger) and really get to know each other, talk through the whole day, look at some albums together and work out what you'll need to get the most from your wedding photographs. Then we'll book it in! I'll put together a schedule of photography so we all know what's happening when, and all through the run-up to the big day I'll be on hand to answer questions. Then on the day, ideally you'll pretty much forget I'm there! Afterwards I'll spend a few weeks editing and processing, and when all the photos are ready you'll receive your very own private gallery and we'll start working on the design of your wedding album. You'll be able to make some tweaks until it's just right, and then it's sent off to be made by hand for you in Yorkshire.
What is the #1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think there's any single photo every couple "should" take - as a documentary photographer I think the photos need to be about you and your party and the people around you, and those can be different every time!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Forgetting about the weather and focussing on each other!
Describe how you got into photography.
I love photos of people carried away in a moment - whether they're working, or daydreaming, or laughing, or crying, or gazing at their lover with doe-eyes, those photos have so much in them to get lost in. I always loved taking candid photos at parties and on shoots (I also work as a TV camera operator) and realised I'd be very happy if I could make a living at it!
