Phil Smith Photography, Shrewsbury Full Description
If you decide to book with Phil Smith Photography for your wedding day photography you won't be dissapointed, I am fully trustworthy having never missed a wedding or let a couple down, I always get praised for going above & beyond the call of duty, my talents include tying cravats, putting on button holes, even helping to lace a brides dress apart from that I am there as a helping hand, although I will still do my job I will do anything I am able to do to help your day run smoothly & stress free. Every year I invest thousands of pounds in up to date camera & editing equipment, I also attend regular training with some of the UK's top professional photographers this helps keep me fresh & my style current. In the summer of 2015, I marked my 100th wedding (a relativley small number but a great acheivement), I average anything between 40-50 weddings a year & will only ever cover one wedding in a day, when you book with me, I am yours for the day. I have recently started entering my images into professional competitions & I am starting to win awards for my photography as I continue to better myself throughout my career. I work full time as a professional photographer, this allows me more time to spend in preparation & post production on your wedding, my main income is from weddings as that is what I love to cover, being at such a special occasion in someones life is just something you explain. What all couples deserve from their wedding photographer is choice, so I will approach your wedding day with the following in mind..."It's all about YOU". You tell me the style of photography that you want for your special day, whether it be reportage, traditional or a mix of both and I will tailor the day to suit you.

Phil was absolutely amazing...
Phil was absolutely amazing, so many people commented on the day to say how organised he was. He had everything in motion, there was no hanging about, he knew where to take the photos. He kept in contact right up to the day. We had over 800 photos after the wedding, and we didn't have to pick which ones we wanted as he put them all on a USB for us, he even changed a few photos for me that I wanted in black and white and sent them through too.

Phil was extremely accommodating...
Phil was extremely accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for him. He has a groom to contend with who hates his photograph taken, yet the groom really enjoyed the experience. Phil had a lot of comments on the day about how relaxed he was, and how he made everyone laugh and feel comfortable having their photograph taken. Not only did he keep me calm and made me laugh pre-ceremony, he helped bridesmaids get jewellery on, made sure flowers were in position etc.

Right from the start of booking Phil he talked to...
Right from the start of booking Phil he talked to me and my husband about the procedure of how the day would plan out. He was through and very professional the whole day and he made myself and my husband feel at ease and comfortable as we were both very nervous. He dealt with both of our families and especially the children with a lot of patience and paid attention to every last detail to make our photos and our wedding day memorable. I cannot thank him enough and would definetly recommend him.

Phil demonstrated confidence...
Phil demonstrated confidence and understating to capture the detail of our day. He was very easy going to liaise with before, during and after the event. Our day was not hindered by the photographer but he managed to capture the day and evening events giving us the memories to treasure forever, superb. Thank you Phil ....we have lots of memories of a superb day and loved ones that we wish to remember forever.

What is your most memorable wedding?

Being booked to go out to Lake Garda for a wedding & spending 5 days with the couple & their families, I felt like one of the family & the wedding was amazing, in a castle on Lake Garda. Such a beautiful place for a destination wedding. It meant alot to get chosen as the brides parents actually run a wedding hotel & have seen hundreds of photographers at their venue, so to get chosen for their daughters wedding was lovely.

Describe your style in 5 adjectives.

Modern, Fun, Artistic, Relaxed & Beautiful

What about your business are you most proud of?

My dedication, I had wedding the day my son was born I was there for the birth & then traveled 100+ miles to be at the wedding on time, As much as I wanted to be with my wife & new son, I couldn't let my couple down. I have never cancelled or missed a wedding to date.

What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?

Do your research on suppliers & get recommendations from friends, other suppliers & even your venue. There are way too many people in the wedding industry who do it for a quick buck, when really you want someone who loves what they do & is passionate about your wedding.

What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?

The Groom who catered the whole wedding, from canapes, warm cider, the wedding breakfast, the cake & the evening buffet. Although he didn't serve it, he had spent many hours getting it all ready.

Describe your typical process with a couple.

From start to finish I will become your friend, from our first consultation right through the wedding day I will be there as your photographer but also as a helping hand to make sure things run smoothly.

What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?

The Bride & Groom Portraits, it's your wedding day so make sure you give enough time to get the special photos of just the two of you.

What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?

Group Photo from above, always a favorite at every wedding

What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?

Make sure when you book your venue that they have space for photos if it's raining, they will of had rainy weddings so ask your coordinator what the plan would be. Or if you don't mind the rain bring the wellies & umbrellas & lets get some awesome photos in the rain :-)

Describe how you got into photography.

From an early age I always had a camera & just loved getting out & about with it, I got into weddings by a friend asking me if I could do it, it took me another 10 years before I turned it into a profession, I waited until I was ready, had the right equipment & had the confidence needed to be a wedding photographer.
