What is your most memorable wedding?
I will never forget the experience in Westminster Abbey covering the Royal Wedding and apart from my own, I've been fortunate to cover many lovely weddings in my 22 years as a photographer. One of my favourite moments though was a wedding in August 2018 when the bride and groom shared the result of their baby scan with all their gusts.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Friendly, Helpful, Considerate, Loyal and Caring.
What about your business are you most proud of?
My desire to continue learning my craft, even aged 42!
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Agree on as much as you can!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
A bridesmaid who had sourced a pendent for the bridal bouquet, with a picture of the brides father in it. The bride hadn't been able to find one in time for the wedding so was delighted with it.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I try to form a relationship with my couples. I care enormously about your wedding day and want the photographs to be something that you treasure for years to come and never tire of looking at.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
That is such a personal question. Every couple is different so what's important to one my be less so to another. I would always advise some pictures of you with elderly relatives who attend. I also think you should make sure you allow time for the photographer to get some nice portraits of the two of you together.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
A sack race and bridal rodeo!
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it!!! You can still get lovely portraits of the two of you in the rain. Be flexible. Your photographer may need to steal you away for a few minutes whilst there is a break in the rain. Work with them and trust them.
Describe how you got into photography.
I got into photography straight from school, when I left in 1993. Via college I worked for a press agency in Stoke on Trent before moving to Stockport to work as a freelance photographer. There is a lot more information about my career on my website on the About page.
