What is your most memorable wedding?
Jeff and Sarah's stunning wedding in Tuscany. Jeff and Sarah are both fantastic wedding photographers in their own right so it was a real honour for them to choose me to photograph their wedding. They are an amazing couple, had an amazing day and photographing it was a fantastic life experience.
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Natural, stylish, fun, real, invisible
What about your business are you most proud of?
I'm very proud to have won North West wedding photographer of the year in the English wedding awards 2016. However, I'm more proud of the great friendships I still have with so many of my brides and grooms. Seeing them time and again as I shoot their friends and families weddings because of their recommendations is the best feedback I could wish for. It tells me how much they love their pictures and my unintrusive approach. It is also a great honour to be one of the judges for 'the wedding industry awards' the past two years.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Its your day, you only get one shot at this so don't get pushed into things by other people. Oh and make sure you have great photos of course!
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
When couples have made all their own table decorations and name tags etc. its so easy to buy all this stuff but so much nicer when its really personal.
Describe your typical process with a couple.
I try to have as little impact on a couples day as possible, my most common compliment/comment is "we didn't notice you were there"
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
There isn't just one, they are all important from the first to the last.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I don't get asked to take pictures people leave me to make my own original images
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Embrace it, some of my favourite pictures are from rainy weddings. An umbrella is probably a good idea!
Describe how you got into photography.
Its always been an interest from being about 5 years old. After pestering and pestering my parents finally bought me my very first camera when I was nine - I've always owned one or more ever since.
