What is your most memorable wedding?
Every wedding is unique and I trully love all that I have the pleasure to document. I had a wedding last year when the bride sang for the groom as a suprise and completely blew everyone away! There were certainly a few tears!
Describe your style in 5 adjectives.
Relaxed, Honest, emotive, documentary and natural
What about your business are you most proud of?
Being able to document some of the most precious days in a couples life. I love my job so much and that makes me super proud of myself for following my dreams.
What is your No. 1 wedding planning tip for couples?
Give yourself enough time to enjoy every part of your day. I think that the industry puts a lot of pressure on couples to entertain guests all day long but sometimes this becomes quite restrictive and doesn't allow a great deal of time to just 'BE'. It really does go by in a flash so having a bit of time to just relax and enjoy the day is my definate top peice of advice.
What is your favourite personal touch you have seen at a wedding?
Personlised vows. Que the tears...
Describe your typical process with a couple.
An initial chat to check we're both on the same page followed by the official booking info and then the fun. I include an engagement session with every booking as quite honestly I love them. I think it's good for building a report with my clients and on the wedding day, it's a little less daunting! After this communication and a clear timeline of whats happening when. Following the wedding day, I will send a sneak peek of the day. Finally, personal editing and the final gallery is available around 6-8 weeks later.
What is the No. 1 photo that you think every couple should take?
I don't think I can pinpoint this down to 1! This is very dependent on personal circumstances and the quests involved. The image that I get excited about could mean a lot less to my couple in comparison to a fleeting moment with a loved one. If I had to choose one moment from my point of view as a pass bride without it is a confetti shot. It often includes your lovely guests and you as a newly married couple just looking super happy! So I guess if I had to choose one shot to get then that would be it.
What is the most original photo you’ve been asked to take at a wedding?
I tend to be mostly documentary so capturing the moments as they happen, I have got some lovely images in the rain but I rarely get asked for particular shots due to most of my couples being laid back and preferring me ot focus on the real moments as they happen.
What do you recommend for a rainy day wedding?
Wellies and allowing yourself to get a teeny bit damp for some fabulous rain images. I always have umbrellas so if my couples are up for it i'm ready to go!
Describe how you got into photography.
I was a wedding florist for many years and although I adored it there was something sad about my art disappearing after a wedding day. I couldn't give up weddings and when my Father told me my Grandfather was a wedding photographer before he sadly passed away it all made sense. Weddings are my passion and so I trained as a photographer and I haven't looked back! I now get to document beautiful moments every week that last forever. To me doing something you love is the key to a happy life and I'm so, so grateful for every client that loves what I do.
